Once a top-notch Autobot warrior, Blades long ago left behind the service and his Protectobot teammates. A street fighter who prefers to get as close to his enemies as he can before slicing them open with his rotor blades, he often comes into conflict with his Autobot peers because of his bloodthirsty attitude.

History

Old Continuity

(See Old Continuity)

Blades’ unruly nature regularly put him at odds with his former comrades, the Protectobots and members of the ISS force. So much, that his former commander, Hot Spot, regularly petitioned for reviews against Blades to be dropped. However, following a botched sting operation (which Blades was held accountable for), Hot Spot was finally pressured by Red Alert to discharge Blades on charges of repeated counts of misconduct and dereliction of duty.

Down on his luck, Blades relocated to the Border Regions following his discharge. Blades would later receive the attention of Axer, head of the Border Region “community center” Peacekeepers Inc, who recruited Blades for his pit fighting racket.

He quickly became a local sensation in the arenas, drawing in much attention from gamblers and challengers foolish enough to fight him, as well the owner of Tzai Industries, Banzaitron. After a near fatal bout, which Blades won, his unconscious body was taken (conveniently enough) to a Tzai owned lab, where horrible things were done to his neo-cortex. Upon awakening and with little say in the matter, Blades was told to report to the Tzai Industry Holdings building for reassignment – as Banzaitron’s bodyguard and student. Banzaitron, though a generous employer, was a very cruel teacher and taught under an unforgiving curriculum, “taming” Blades through electroconvulsive prompts.

During the Tzai-led massacre against the organization known as The Metacarpus, Blades was forced to take out one of latter organization’s key directors operating in a Border Regions storehouse. Incidentally, The Wrecker named Whirl and his collaborator Gearbox were also investigating the site before it went up in flames, taking Gearbox along with it. Naturally, this prompted a further investigation led by Whirl himself and the former-Protectobot First Aid, which would eventually lead to the fall of the Tzai.

The mercenary Doubledealer - who had infiltrated the Tzai's inner circle - had used Blades to extract further information against the corporation. Doubledealer has since made amends and has taken Blades under his wing following the death of his employer. Now a fugitive, Blades, with the help of Magnificus and Doubledealer, has assumed a new alias, as well as a new paintjob to conceal his identity.

Trivia

Blades has, so far, undergone 3 paintjobs. His original red and white scheme, his garish G2 scheme and a custom, non-canon colour scheme (see below). The scheme on the far right is his most current.

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 70

Blades has also had his ID purged from his systems twice. The second time he underwent this process was to shield his identity from ISS scanning equipment. Though he despises his phony unit designation, scanners identify him as “Graze” - Blades' name in Japan. Blades uses this name only if the situation requires it.
