Tzai Industries

Tzai Industries was a multinational corporation involved in severely illegal and immoral activities, headquartered in Iacon. For a period, The Tzai took advantage of the poverty and lawlessness of the Autobot capital's border regions, eventually growing into a massive, wealthy conglomerate with influence in many key industries. Founded by Banzaitron, they were dedicated to raking in as many shanix as possible no matter what they had to do to get it.

History

Following the Reclamation, a time of planet wide instability, former Mayhem Attack Squad member Banzaitron set his sights on Iacon’s Border Region district. During this period, Cybertron itself was still in the process of rebuilding itself following Quintesson rule. Many cities throughout the planet underwent a temporary economic recession - the Border Regions in particular was hit hard during this period, resulting in the district’s distinct economic system. Since resource allocation sanctions had yet to be re-established on Cybertron, Banzaitron quickly pooled in vast amounts of resources through his then newly formed organization, simply known as “The Tzai” at the time. The Tzai's tactics ranged from a business minded methodology to mafioso-styled bullying, and had little reservations against murder.

A local Border Region “community centre” known as Peacekeepers Inc. would eventually come to play a major role in the Tzai’s rise to power. Founded by the renegade Axer, Peacekeepers had strong ties to the underworld, but more importantly, ties to the community. Those ties that would later be strengthened when the Tzai’s subsidiary businesses merged with Peacekeeper’s Inc, forming the conglomerate Tzai Industries. As a result, the Tzai’s roster had grown exponentially, with a majority of the Border Regions population standing behind the corporation. Banzaitron then isolated himself from public view, registering the corporation under various aliases and dummy businesses. This allowed him to further invest in a Border Region property without raising the suspicions from authorities.

The Year 2025

Following its inception, the Tzai acquired its vast wealth and resources through both illegal and legal means, with influence in many key Cybertronian industries, in particular raw materials. Over sixty percent of Border Region property had been owned by Tzai Industries. Tzai Industries Headquarters was located in Iacon's business district in the Tzai Industry Holdings building along with the company's law firm.

Though the company received almost no resistance from the Border Region community, mostly out of fear, it did not stop competing Border Region syndicates from muscling in on rackets that the Tzai monopolized. One in particular was known as the Metacarpus. After a long and violent turf war, the two organizations began to consider peace negotiations. However, talks of peace would be quickly quashed during a meeting of Tzai and Metacarpus hopefuls, when a group of Metacarpus malcontents assassinated a group of Tzai diplomats during negotiations. This move would prove fatal to the Metacarpus however, as this would lead to the events referred to as the “Internecion”. In a violent reprisal, the Tzai systematically wiped-out the Metacarpus, including its five key directors.

Fall of The Tzai

The Metacarpus/Tzai turf war prompted an investigation conducted by the Wrecker Whirl and the former-Protectobot First Aid. Whirl led an assault on Peacekeepers Inc, while a second Wrecker unit investigated Iacon's business district. A third, consisting of First Aid and Sunstreaker, were sent to the Border Regions to locate Blades. Axer was captured, who had been betrayed by Banzaitron in a desperate move to cover his tracks. The mercenary Doubledealer, who too had his own motivations, assisted in the capture, and later provided (albeit rather conveniently) the Wrecker party with incriminating information against the corporation. This led Whirl's unit along with Doubledealer, and eventually the ISS, to Banzaitron's mansion in the Tyrus District. Axer was recaptured - who had been used as bait to enter the compound - and Banzaitron, after battling his old foe for the final time, committed suicide.

However, though the Wreckers toppled the corporation, a void remained where the Tzai once was, leaving the Border Regions fate uncertain. Fortunately, an emergency auction was held to liquidate the Tzai's accumulated assets, as well as put the Tzai's investors and interlocking businesses mind's at ease. Also in attendance were local entrepreneurs as well as candidates for an upcoming election, each with their own visions of the Region's future.
