[JTF] UK Takara DVD

My brother bought me the Takara DVD here in the UK (eps 1-5 of heamasters) and ive got to say it is the funniest sh*t ive ever seen in the ep where blaster gets rebuilt,

Narrator: Soundwave is being rebuild........
Galavtron: Soundwave your new name is NEW SOUNDWAVE.

New soundwave what kind of retarded name is that. And i didnt know alpha trion had powers as a ghost.

The dubbing is funny, Sparkle, Phillip etc... I thought Soundwave was renamed Soundblaster?

Billy did become Blaster. I'm sure Soundwave was renamed New Soundwave. What were the dubbers thinking? They probably meant NeoSoundwave.

Wasnt he meant to be called Soundblaster anyways after translation. When Soundwave and Blaster die and rebuilt, I think they are suppose to have new names, just not some dodgy dubbed translated ones.

yeah blaster was renamed from billy to blaster and danny went

All i can say is that the DVD releases have been a joke.

Metroplex = Phillip, WTF is that all about.

In havnt seen the latest, but on the movie DVD, the headmasters episode has the Victory intro, which is a real crap thing to do.

Those DVDs are a waste of time, better off getting mpegs or vcds.

So... worth picking up for a laugh? The MvC in Carmarthen has it here for about fourteen quid...

Oh, and I know I could go and look this up, but... how many eps be there in Japanese HeadMasters?

It's worth seeing for novelty value. And for a night of alcohol-enhanced fun with fellow fans (and possibly even non-fans).

And about 35, iirc...

Has there been any word on this DVD being a one-off or the first of a series? I'd really like all the Jap series on DVD as trying to get them from DC is like getting blood out a stone sometimes

Fastlane, if demand is good they will put out more, this one is testing the water. Whilst I dont have all the Japanese eps, just missing Vic 29-32 I'll be willing to copy them for you on to CD if you send some CDs and some stampage to cover postage. Let me know via anymeans.

Some of the dialogue was poor too, i get the impression it was dubbed for english aisan audiences rather then western ones. My fave example of poor dubbing came when the Autobot headmasters arrive "Hey Galvatron dont count your chickens before they hatch."
But one of the better ones was when Abominus fralls before Galvatron and he says "You fools! I want optimus prime dead!"
That confirmed he definatly is Megatron.

Erm, Headmasters. Yeh, it's damn great. Shame about the dub, though, as it means we can't appreciate classic plots like the Planet of the Bee People, and I'm sure Wheelie's a robotic version of Blackadder in Japanese.
