Does anyone know why G1 season 3 was so shitty?

Any G1 fans remember how generally terrible season 3 was? Kinda felt like they were just throwing random shit into the show to try and keep it fresh, but there were also just a lot of mistakes. I mean the Constructicons were FUCKING blue for a whole scene! What did they do, hire a ton of incompetent interns?

TBH any semblance of quality before that was due to people putting in more effort than was expected for toy tie-in shows and other media. Great voice actors and a bit of the writing and animation was above standard, but it was a fairly low effort industry.

As far as S3 went... continued outsourced production, a movie that pretty much bombed and an expectation that toy lines would run for a few years and be replaced. Culminating in a three-episode fourth series before cancellation and rehashing with bad CGI.
