Road Hugger hurriedly followed Smolder into the room, replying to Brawl as they did so. "Yeah, that was us. A ball of snow just soared through the air, and it spooked me out. Wait a sec, Brawl, Smolder's just spotted something... Unicron's beard, this room's all frozen..."
Road Hugger turned to Beastbox and shrugged. "No idea what happened, 'Box. We're trying to figure it out."
Road Hugger approached the abandoned chair and inspected it. It looked to be familiar somehow... as if there was something he had missed... and then it clicked into place. "Oh, hell. Smolder, Beastbox, I think I know who did this."

“Blue dragon?” Crack Shot replied to Rounder somewhat confused. “Hold on a sec, I’ll be right back.” He said to the smaller transformer as he walked outside.
Outside Brawl stood listening to Road Hugger’s reply. He was thankful that they hadn’t met any real trouble. He was about to reply when Crack Shot approached.
“Brawl, you know anything about a blue dragon transformer with a bird?” Crack Shot asked.
“Maybe, why do you ask?” Brawl replied annoyed he had been interrupted.
“Rounder says he’s been hiding from one.”
For a second Brawl thought that the civilian was crazy. The idea sounded ridiculous. Then he realized that the entire area did feel colder than what was normal on Cybertron. Coupled with the fact that Road Hugger found the frozen room and snow, Brawl began to feel that there was hope for this mission turning around yet.
“Road Hugger, I think Cryotek may be in the area. We have a civilian with us who spotted him; we’re going to see if he can help us track him down.” Brawl replied.

Cerebros frowned when Onslaught told him of Crosshair's 'orders'. In truth, while he wasn't surprised by this revelation - after all, Prowl sent him here without Cerebros' approval - it angered him nonetheless.
"Hn, I can't say that I'm at all shocked. Disappointed maybe," Cerebros said. "But, sigh," he shook his head. "Damn you, Prowl..."
He returned his focus back to his host. "If we do not choose to arm Protihex with them, that'd be a wise alternative. Though, we do run the risk of these warheads ending up in the wrong hands," he told Onslaught. "If we went that route, they'd have to be disarmed first. Or were you thinking of detonating them once they've reached orbit?

Smolder squinted at Beastbox. "Uh...who are you?" He frowned at Road Hugger. "Who? Where is he?"
Chopster sighed. "You're thinking Cryotek?" he asked Road Hugger.

"And?" Onslaught asked Doublecross. "I'm not going to let you traffic it, if that's what this is leading up to."
He gave Cerebros an indulgent look. "I think you misunderstand me, my friend. I want to put them in orbit equipped with remote triggers and steering rockets, so that we can fend off any attempts to blockade Protihex or bombard the city from orbit. Disguised as debris -- old, disused satellites, perhaps -- no one would be the wiser."

"He's Beastbox, our resident interrogator." Road Hugger told Smolder, pointing at the Cassettecon with his thumb.
Road Hugger's optics narrowed when Chopster and Brawl confirmed his suspicions. "Yes guys, it's Cryotek. That crazy ice-breathing dragon mafia. Brawl, we've discovered a room, completely frozen. Cryotek must be around here somewhere..."
-He must've been the one who was spying on us just now. And that snow... he's near, very near.-
"Get ready. Cryotek must be nearby." Road Hugger's Scrapmaker clicked and whirred, whilst his wrist-mounted blasters hummed with a charge. "Good thing you came along, Smolder. You can melt this psycho dragon down to size."

Stratus continued to fidget uneasily as the transport headed to their destination, worried as ever over the damage his partner had taken, and his persisting unconciousness. The minicon wound up spending the time looking back and forth between Aero Blade and Hoist, as though unable to decide which direction he should have been looking.

"It would've been 'who are you, monkey that I just chopped with my axe' if you'd surprised me any more, sir," Smolder told Beastbox. "Didn't Soundwave ever teach his pets not to sneak up on people like that?"
Chopster transformed to robot mode, leaping out of a surprised Smolder's hand and landing on a shelf near Road Hugger. "We got a plan?" he asked. "Cryotek isn't someone we want to trifle with from what I hear." He realized how craven that sounded and added, "But I guess Onslaught expected us to be able to take care of ourselves, right?"

"I take you for someone I barely know who showed up here to work behind my back with Bluestreak," Onslaught told Doublecross flatly. "Around here you need to earn trust."
He shrugged.
"But I'm willing to give you that opportunity. What do you suggest we do with it?"

Road Hugger shrugged at Chopster. "Cryotek is really powerful. But I am confident we can take him down. We outnumber him, after all, and we still have Brawl around as backup. From what I've heard, other than his little pet bird and his ice breaths, he has this spark-extracting weapon on his tail. We should make destroying it a priority."
The ex-Micromaster frowned. "Cryotek comes from the future, but it's a safe bet that he doesn't know any of the four of us. So here's what passes for a plan. I distract Cryotek, while you and Beastbox try to sneak in and destroy the spark extractor and his pet bird. And then Smolder burns Cryotek into crisp."
Road Hugger opened a commlink, "Shriek, recon. Anything blue and cold, report back to us."

(OOC: Sorry, optimusskids, I hadn't realized that Doublecross had earlier entered the conversation. Just pretend Cerebros is aware that he's there.)
"I think my techs might be able to install the necessary triggers and steering rockets you speak of, that is if you do not have the staff. It'll take some work, but the warheads can be launched from the Steelhaven*," Cerebros told Onslaught. "It's a precautionary measure, but I'd also recommend that the weapons be equipped with self-denotation devices as well, in the event that the warheads are hi-jacked or fall out of orbit."
(OOC: * I'm not sure if the Steelhaven has the equipment to launch said nukes, though. Would it be reasonable that it could? I know it's a very large starship and all, but still. Let me know if you had something else in mind and I'll edit accordingly.)
Cerebros then looked to Doublecross. "Yes, please explain. I'm sorely tempted to take my own advice and launch this...waste into the closest star," he said. "Any idea who this "unscrupulous" mech is?"

As his shuttle approached the Steelhaven, Hoist switched on the monitor and hailed the massive star ship.
"This is Hoist. I have two passengers with me, one wounded and in need of immediate medical attention. Requesting permission to dock."
"Permission granted," Cog answered. "Welcome back, Hoist."
The mechanic gripped the steering apparatus and guided the small vessel around the ship, gradually lowering it as he approached one of the open hangar bay doors.
---
When the shuttle touched down, Hoist stood up from the cockpit and moved to the back of the ship where Stratus waited with his unconscious partner.
Taking a handle at each side of the stretcher, the green-clad Autobot wheeled Aero Blade down the boarding ramp.

Stratus remained where he was as Hoist retrieved the stretcher, merely looking at the Autobot and then around the rest of the area as they began to leave the smaller ship and moved back into the bigger one. After a short bit his attention would go back to Aero Blade, having detected his partner move slightly.
Aero seemed to be rousing again, his systems having a chance to more thoroughly absorb the energy the power cell had transfered into him. He was still slow in coming around, twitching slightly in pain from the damages he had recieved earlier, but not quite concious yet.

Brawl closed the com-link after Road Hugger confirmed that Cryotek was somewhere in the area. It almost made him happy to know that he would have a chance at fighting the criminal.
Any original intentions Brawl had of finding a suitable area to set up a new base became secondary at this point he just wanted to hunt down and fight the Mafioso. He walked back inside where they had found Rounder.
“Do you have any idea where we would be able to find Cryotek?” Brawl asked Rounder.

"Find him? Find him? Are you crazy?" Rounder looked up at Brawl with a crazed look in his eyes. "He's going to find us. All of us. Anyone who can testify that he was ever even here. He's going to kill us all, don't you get it?"

"Uh...not to rain on anyone's parade or anything but without Chopster I ain't setting fire to anything," Smolder told Road Hugger. "Fire truck, remember? About the best I can do is spray the bugger down with water and fire-retardant foam and hope he freezes himself."
He glowered at Beastbox, but kept his mouth shut because he really didn't have a good comeback for that. He just hoped he got a chance to push the ape into one of Cryotek's ice beams.

Onslaught nodded to Cerebros. "Your precautions make perfect sense to me," he said. "My people probably have the facilities and equipment we need to do this, but I wouldn't necessarily trust them with a job this sensitive. We also need the Steelhaven's heavy-lift capacity regardless."
He waited for Doublecross to answer Cerebros, but expected the answer to be 'Swindle'.

"Hmm." Road Hugger said as he considered what Smolder just said. "In that case Beastbox would have to do it solo, then. While I'll still be the distraction. Oh, what fun. That 'hope he freeze himself' plan isn't half bad, though. Might work if we can't burn the bastard."
Road Hugger turned to Beastbox. "Please, two of you... we're on the same side here."

"Brawl, Road Hugger- contact! It's a frikkin' dragon!"

Brawl was caught off guard by Shriek’s distress call. He hadn’t expected Cryotek to attack this quickly.
“Shriek, We’re on our way.” Brawl replied as he was half way out the door.
He turned back to look at Rounder “Stay put.” He said to the green and gray transformer.
Brawl and Crack Shot headed out of the building weapons raised. They moved towards Shriek’s position doing their best to stay near what little cover the building provided.

He pulled his high calibre revolver from his holster and opened the chamber to make sure it was loaded. He really hoped he wouldn’t have to use it.

Pointblank followed the conversation between Cerebros, Onslaught and now Doublecross from a distance. He couldn't hear everything, but he did hear them mention Crosshairs. He could only guess what the topic was, but it reminded him that Cerebros had some questions about him.
He wondered what Crosshairs was up to right now? He hoped that he was staying out of trouble and that they would meet again soon. He thought about returning to Iacon as there was nothing for him to do anymore in Protihex.

As Hoist pushed the stretcher through corridors of the Steelhaven, he detected Aero Blade's slight movements.
"Still with us, eh? That's good," he calmly said.
---
When they arrived in the medbay, Hoist found a secluded corner away from the other patients and brought the stretcher along side a slab. He carefully slid Aero onto it and plugged him into the diagnostic machine that sat just above the head of the bed.
"Now that we're out of that shabby ol' warehouse, let's see what we can do about getting you fixed up properly."

"Seeing as we're pooling our resources together, gather what specialists you have," Cerebros told Onslaught. "And I'll have Cog send out an additional shuttle to transport these to the Steelhaven."
The headmaster looked around the storage room. "Let's try to keep this transfer as quiet as possible," he glanced over at Doublecross and smiled. "What with these rumors of 'unscrupulous' mechs lurking about."

Brawl couldn’t hear Rounder’s calls over the noise he made from running. Not that he really cared, He wasn’t afraid of Cryotek. He knew Cryotek was a transformer like any other- Shoot him enough and he’ll eventually drop.
Brawl and Crack Shot soon reached a position where they were able to see Shriek and Cryotek plummeting towards the ground. Cryotek was still too far off to hit accurately but at least they could get his attention.
“Open fire!” Brawl yelled at Crack Shot.
Simultaneously Brawl and Crack Shot began shooting at Cryotek.
