"Then lets not be rude. We need to introduce ourselves to our guests outside." Clench said to Frenzy and Blitzwing as he started walking towards the exit, fully intending to revel in the chaos outside.

Generating Point

"Take care," Scrapper mumbled to Shrapnel, already engrossed in the challenge of re-engineering the remaining generators from a heap of cast-off parts.

"A suicide mission? What do you take me for?" Kickback took a step back, an offended expression on his face. "No, absolutely not. If I thought you were an asset, I would keep you out of harm's way."

He dropped his facade of discomfort and said, "I simply meant, Bombshell, that I would need to install a bomb in your head to ensure your loyalty."

"It was located a few hundred kilometers north-west of here in the military annex," Soundwave told Tinker. "Of course, the annex has been re-zoned for construction into civilian housing. My ruins should still be intact -- the main construction is going on south of there. But I can't make any promises." He paused for a second before adding, "I've transmitted the coordinates on a sub-channel."

"Okay, Soundwave. I'll check it out." Tinker answered, as he read the coordinates of Soundwave's old bunker. Turning to Hook, the Seeker said, "I'll go and search Soundwave's ol' place for possible exoforms for Beaky. I'll be back."

Tinker walked out of the medbay and transformed into jet mode, flying past a stumbling Shrapnel.

The Insecticon staggered into the medbay and weakly called out, "Need a medic, medic..."

"Ah."

Bombshell considered it for a while before nodding. "A bomb in my head. You want to put a bomb. In my head. Could be worse, I guess. Deal. But do I get my cerebro-shells back?"

Retcon moved nearer the bars eager to please his potential rescuer

"surely that means he could infect you and command you to remove the bomb."

Bombshell glared at Retcon before turning to Kickback. "Of course not! I mean, can't you install cerebroshell blockers or something?"

Astrotrain's Office

"Treason?" Tracer spoke, his tone almost quizical as he cocked his head slightly, as though trying to pretend briefly that he did not see what the admiral meant. It passed just as quickly, his tone returning to business. "I say again, as I said before the earlier gathering, and before Megatron at my promotion - my loyalty is to the Decepticon cause - his name, was never meantioned. I'm sure he knows the difference."

Tracer came a bit closer, stopping at Astrotrain's desk respectfully. "We've seen how long Starscream held this post with almost legendary traitorism, attempting to overthrow him at every turn. Megatron came to expect it, and yet he remained. So long as I prove to be competent, I doubt there is any danger to myself at this time. As I said when I first joined this side of the split - my loyatly is also, and firstly, with you. As well as things have been working out, I see no reason to change that."

Medbay, Darkmount

Hook acknowledge Tinker's mission, then returned to his checks on Laserbeak, only to vocalise a terribly theatrical sigh when Shrapnel staggered in. "I wonder whether Ratchet has orns like this?" he muttered to Glit before mechfully approaching the Insecticon to offer assistance.

As Glit worked on the case before him, his mind wandered to Bomb-burst, safely encased in a CR chamber with the fluid highly energised. There was a lot of power being channelled through this area; he could only hope someone did not think it excessive... Then there was Starscream's replacement exoform to consider.

Ah, so many opportunities to practise his particular combination of sciences and no time to be about them!

---------------------------------------------------------------
Outside, Darkmount

Starscream was bored popping guns and, anyway, his ethereal digits were visibly tingling, a dim yellow glow suffusing their Spark-generated image.

Medbay, Darkmount

Shrapnel nodded appreciatively to Hook. "Hello, doctor, doctor... nice to see you up and running again, again... the medics we had after you guys left are real butchers, you know, know?" The Insecticon sat on an operating table, and used his hands to indicate his dented cranium as well as his entire broken body.

The Insecticon, however, had a smile on his face that betrayed his scorched exterior. Above all his murderous and psychotic behaviour, Shrapnel has a brain inside his head. Oh, he might not use it often, and he might not follow it when it worked, but the brain is there. Not as smart as the likes of Bombshell and Kickback, perhaps, but Shrapnel is not unintelligent.

He is just a little crazy, a little psychotic, a little trigger-happy. (Or in Shrapnel's case, lightning-happy). Not stupid, no. Thus, he was smiling not because he didn't understand the threat posed to his life by the injuries, but he was smiling because of the deaths of the Imperials he had killed. The enemies he killed for the Decepticons. Like it or not, that got to be good in his records, and might begin to make up for all the stupid things he had done in the past. Shrapnel so desperately wanted to be a good soldier.

The Insecticon began to list the major damages to Hook, "Head's a little banged up and I've run outta energy. Optic band's broken, broken. Cut on the side, too, too. Other than that are minor cosmetic damage, damage. A CR Chamber can take care of the rest, rest."

Shrapnel looked at Laserbeak's incapacitated head and winced (Shrapnel immediately regretted that action, as the action caused the cracks on his visor to become wider). "What happened to him, him?"

Tinker shot over the courtyard where the Stunticons were fighting the Imperial ship. Seeing that he should do something, the Seeker unleashed two torpedoes at the imperial ship before flying on his way towards Soundwave's old office.

Smelting Pool

Frenzy removed him self from cover. The battle for the Smelting Pool was over. The prospect of engaging in further combat was tempting, but he had more pressing matters to attend to.

Frenzy raised the limp body of Slug from the ground.

“This ones coming with me, you are welcome to help me escort him back to Darkmount” he said to Blitzwing and Clench.

The casseticons eyes glowed a cruel red.

Soundwave will know what to do with him”. Frenzy opened a channel,

-Frenzy to Soundwave. I have something here that you might be interested in. An Imperial who tried to scrap us at the Smelting Pool. And the best thing……the half breed is still alive…………..

"Of course," Kickback told Bombshell. "What good would you be as a henchman if all of your abilities are hobbled?" He smiled. "Of course, if you try to use them without permission you might find your thoughts painted on the wall for all to see..."

The Insecticon shrugged.

"Considering all the casualties today, it probably wouldn't even be that difficult to find you a new transformation cog."

Kickback chuckled at Retcon's suggestion. "Well, he could try, but if he gets me to perform brain surgery he'll probably spend the rest of his days staring at shiny things and drooling."

He, naturally, didn't answer Bombshell's perfectly-reasonable followup question. A few months' worth of study on very unwilling subjects had shown him that a simple Faraday cage around the brain module was good enough to provide 97% protection from cerebro-shell signals. Of course, it had taken a few spectacular failures before he and his black-market surgeon had figured out exactly how to safely install one...

Soundwave listened to Frenzy's report, then said, "We are through keeping Imperial prisoners and treating them humanely. Interrogating him will only be a waste of time. Kill him, extract his memory chips and run a trawl program on them to see what information you can get out of him."

Astrotrain's Office

"You would be surprised," Astrotrain told Tracer, "how selective Megatron's hearing can be. To him, the Decepticon cause and his personal grandeur are one and the same."

Astrotrain leaned back in his chair. "Don't be so glib about it. You need to understand that Megatron only kept Starscream around because he knew Starscream couldn't ever succeed. He was a camp, strutting buffoon who couldn't plan more than five minutes ahead. You and I, and Soundwave for that matter, are far more intelligent and effective."

He made a disgusted noise. "And besides, we're not trying to overthrow Megatron. We're using him, like the blunt instrument that he is. If he ever found out, he would take it...quite a bit more personally than a mere coup. I'm glad to have your loyalty and your support, but unless you understand what you're getting into, I won't involve you."

"Oookay." Bonecrusher said to Gravedigger, as he pulled out a canister of oil from the aforementioned bay. "The good doctor wants me to take some, and knowing Hook, he'll be kind'a upset if I don't deliver it on express, 'know what I mean? Guy's more perfectionist than I am."

Although, to be fair, Bonecrusher's perfectionism is pretty simple... 'Nothing left standing other than Decepticon structures'

Sighing, Bonecrusher transformed into bulldozer mode, the barrel of oil tucked in his seat. "Better get this stuff to medbay, before Hook loses his temper. You guys can handle the transport, yeah? C'ya guys 'round." The Constructicon said as he drove off.

"You have a deal. We have a deal. I work for you, you get me my powers back." Bombshell said gleefully, rubbing his hands together. "Oh, Kickback, you're so brilliantly kind and considerate. I won't waste this second chance, I promise you. And you can trust me... no way am I going to force you to remove the bomb from my head."

Now, forcing a Constructicon to do so, on the other hand... Bombshell began to think about ways to do so, but shook the idea out of his mind. After all, this gambit was his only way to freedom. Bombshell was filled with glee as he stood up and moved closer to the energon bars, face poking out slightly.

"Oh ho ho, you won't regret this decision, Kickback. I'll be the best intelligence agent you ever will have, good friend. I'll take control of anyone you need-" -and anyone I need- the control-obsessed Insecticon silently added- "-as long as I continue living. Come on, you can trust me, right? Now install that bomb already!"

Above COnstruction Site

Tinker zipped above the construction site near Soundwave's old intelligence bureau office pretty fast, thanks to the new afterburners he spliced from his late twin. With a pang of shame at using his twin's better hardware, Tinker transformed into robot mode and landed on the smoking ruins of Soundwave's old office and began searching for any cassette exoforms.

Medbay, Darkmount

"You shall have Energon," Hook told Shrapnel. Truth be told, he was not too keen on the Insecticons, but it would be of no avail to refuse treatment; besides, his personal pride would not let him... He operated a lever on the controls currently feeding Laserbeak and created two glowing pink cubes, which he then presented to Shrapnel.

"Drink slowly," he advised, picking up a scalpel-like cutting tool and testing the edge casually. "I believe you have damage to your antennae; a short-circuit might well result if you overcharge."

Glit joined him, nodded agreement. "You take care of the basics, Hook, and I'll prepare a suitable CR enviroment. Probably need to put in an earth line."

Preferably not close to Bomb-burst! Hook thought, leaning in to examine Shrapnel's cranium and peeling back some flecks of paint with his scalpel.

Astrotrain's Office

"Unless my memory has failed me, it was you who both suggested and presented me to Megatron for this possition. Whether I'm directly involved or not, Megatron still has strong grounds to concluded that you brought me into the situation to assist you in your endeavor.

"As I said before, I hold no personal loyalty to Megatron, and I have noticed the same things about him as you have meantioned. If you wish to... make better use of his... unique persona... I can see where it is towards the benefit of the Decepticon Empire," Tracer answered to Astrotrain. "Nothing you've said has waivered my opinion in the slightest. Linked as we are already in the situation, now isn't the time for you to have second thoughts about it."

"Left to do all the hard work, why doesn't that surprise me?" Long Haul said just loud enough for Bonecrusher to hear as he was leaving.

"We better put a call in to the others as well and make sure they don't need anything else. I'm sure Mixmaster will be wanting to stock up on a series of base chemicals for his collection. He's always in a foul mood when he runs dry of chemicals." Long Haul mentioned to Gravedigger while waiting to be loaded. He then sent a coded transmission to his fellow Constructicons asking if they required any further supplies from Central Storage?

Medbay, Darkmount

Shrapnel nodded, obeying Hook's orders and began to slowly drink from the two cubes presented to him. The Insecticon took care to move his head as little as possible -- after all, Hook was going to perform something akin to brain surgery and it wouldn't do to jostle around!

The energon was cold and soothing, flowing into Shrapnel's throat and the transformer equivalent of a digestive tract. As his systems absorbed the energy and distributed it over his body, Shrapnel felt energy returning to him as the HUD on his (cracked) visor showed his energy levels increasing from borderline life-threatening to acceptable conditions. "Yeah, antennae are fried from maintaining the generators, generators. It's a good thing this medbay is equipped with an emergency one, um?"

The Insecticon didn't say any more as Hook worked on him...

Bonecrusher gave Long Haul a slight chuckle as he exited Central Storage, "Look at the bright side, Haul. At least y'got 'Digger there to accompany you."

The green bulldozer rumbled off out of central storage, treads rotating as he drove towards medbay, smoke pouring out of his exhaust pipes. When he reached the medbay, Bonecrusher transformed and held the large barrel of oil in his hand. "Hook... Here's your oil." the Constructicon said, giving Glit and the damaged Shrapnel both friendly nods.

Outside Darkmount

Rumble continued to fire at the Imperial drop ship. He paused for a second, something wasn’t right. All he could hear was the sound of his own ionic blaster and the near by Stunticons. Not being the brightest of mechs it took him a while to realize what the problem was.

“HEY!” Rumble blurted out confused.

“What’s going on here? Why aint they firing back?”

He stepped out of cover completely in the open staring at the drop ships weapon mountings.

“And what’s that funny light all about, sumfin aint right here!”

Rumble scratched his head transfixed by the glow. For a second he couldn’t believe his optics,

“Is that? NO I must be crazy” he said aghast.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Smelting Pool

Frenzy waited a few moments before replying to Soundwaves orders.

- Trawl program. HEY! Why do I always get these geeky assignments? (OOC G1 cartoon ref  )

“You know what Clench? Soundwaves not fun anymore you know. All this effort to keep this lump of scrap alive”, Frenzy’s attentions turned to Slugs limp body.

“Hmmmm………maybe I can extract his memory cores and have some fun”.

Frenzy grabbed the small Imperials head under the chin and placed his feet on Slugs shoulders. With one almighty tug he tore the Imperials head from its body. The lifeless corpse lay twisted and contorted on the floor. Frenzy took the newly decapitated head and held it up to his own. He watched as the Imperials eyes darkened and his spark drifted into oblivion. He attached the head to his waste for safekeeping. Smiling Frenzy turned to Clench,

“You said something about unwanted guests? Let’s get these gatecrashers.”

With this, Frenzy slung Slugs lifeless body into the smelting pool.

Ruins of Soundwave's Old Office

Salvaging the ruins of an Intelligence Bureau Office yielded surprisingly profitable results. Gigatron's forces did a rather thorough job of demolishing the place, but in the chaos, some part of the office are still left standing. In shambles, but still standing.

In ten earth-minutes, Tinker had salvaged a couple of data-disks as well as some small data servers. Knowing Soundwave, the servers and disks would be encrypted. Thus Tinker did not bother to look into them.

The Seeker medic finally found a few exoform parts tucked in an alcove, in various forms -- spare parts and disassembled bodies for the general exoforms like Ravage or Frenzy. Thankfully, a buzzard exoform was among those still undamaged. Granted, it was disassembled, unpainted and without weaponry, and Tinker's sensors indicated that it had inferior armour. But it's nothing a little upgrade wouldn't fix.

Subspacing everything he found (and magno-clamping those which couldn't fit into subspace onto his cockpit), Tinker transformed and shot off back towards Darkmount.

Medbay, Darkmount

"Every medbay has its generator, Shrapnel, as you know" Hook said, restraining his inbuilt urge to employ sarcastic modulation. "But we are continuing to pull extra power from the main grid due to our patient situation. Your personal bravery has ensured the continued existence of several fellow Decepticons.

"Ah, the oil..." Hook briefly nodded to Bonecrusher. "Exactly as I requested." Although more than I expected...

He returned to his work on Shrapnel, fastidiously removing all stray traces of paint around the cranial area he would have to access to effect primary repairs.

Glit stepped away from Laserbeak to accept the oil barrel, affording Bonecrusher his first clear view of what was left of the Cassettecon.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Outside Darkmount

Starscream, figuratively leaning against the remains of one of the autoguns to examine his tingling hands in the light from outside, could not help but observe Rumble standing there with mouth hanging open.

And he simply could not resist...

"Is that a rhetorical question, Rumble?" he asked, drifting through the ship's side and down towards the other. "Or do you want an answer?"
