Christmas video game haul, both games for the Switch(Vita carts are getting kind of pricey, depending on what you're looking for):

TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection - pretty cool, all of the separate soundtracks, box art, manuals, etc, with my only real complaint being the fact that of the 13 games, you get 3 copies of Turtles in Time(although I get the feeling that Hyperstone Heist might have a slightly different plot). It's kind of the same deal with 3 different copies Tournament Fighters, but one of those is the NES version, which would wind up having to be drastically different.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition - again pretty cool, though I haven't really gotten into the asymmetrical 5 player games that much. Fortunately, much like Evil Dead, there is a single player mode, which makes it feel like the version of Ghostbuster: The Video Games that came out for the DS, which I loved, just with better graphics, Dan Ackroyd and Ernie Hudson. And the Switch version harkens back to The Real Ghostbusters with Samhain.

Started playing Batman: Arkham Knight and it's taking some time getting used to the Batmobile controls.

Been playing Batman: Arkham Knight, been enjoying it even if the twist is kind of obvious, don't mind the batmobile gameplay either.

I bought Spacebase Startopia for the Switch. The controls are incredibly awkward, the animations stutter, the computer AI regularly repeats the same phrases and its very unintuitive for the first couple of hours.

And I love it! You've basically been put in charge of Babylon 5 but its one of those 2001-style rotating space stations; a giant doughnut in space with three floors. The music is cool, the aliens are cute and its addictive in the way that Sim City is. Also available on the other consoles and PC, with much better graphics and smoother gameplay.

Down to Zero Games

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Peace! :)

I am glad to be posting here!! :D

I was thinking about making a thread:

How do you organize yourself?

I wanted to talk about how and why I mainly only watch my brother play games.

In fact I actually went down to zero games from playing only one particular 4X game.

Can't talk about, or even mention this game today! Sorry!! :(

God willing, I'll mention another 4X game!! :D

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4X

Not exactly, :)

It's called:

The Factory Game

We are two brothers; that's it. :|

My brother is older than me! :D

He has always been bringing me games. :)

My brother is more pragmatic; while I am more escapism-y.

My escapism:

Too idealistic:

You get everything in paradise; why delve heavily into games??

:eyebrow:

Too much escapism! :sweatdrop

It's like cancer for me!! :(

(still playing games!!)

Well we played a game of Monopoly on SNES! :D

Savestates work great here!

With short sessions like 15 minutes or more,

You can stretch a game even to over more than a week! :)

Factories and More Factories

We started playing several years back! :)

Haven't gotten too far, but read a lot!

Some fantastic games came along!!

Steam had to take a back seat!! :eyebrow:

Store: Battlenet app comes with a single Activision Blizzard game.

It started with Starcraft II!!

A disaster happened!! :sweatdrop

With the new expansion,

Hearthstone won't work on my brother's Mac. :wtf:

He searched the forums for easy fixes,

Will have to fight procrastination if I am to help fix this.

A new Mac OS or a new PC. (I've only got a PC laptop)

Not to worry he's started playing Factorio again! :)

RTS vs. 4X:

Heroes of the Storm is super exciting!! :D

Started playing one and half years ago.

At least the past six months or a little more,

This is the main game my brother has been playing.

Yeah I know, Heroes of the Storm isn't RTS like Starcraft II Co-op, but I wanted to exaggerate the contrast. :)

Starcraft II story mode: you live in the Starcraft II world. :D

We've only almost completed Terran Campaign.

Story mode isn't like it's very short on its own, but 2 player co-op keeps bringing you back!

2 player co-op, very fun characters (commanders) and also weekly mutations! :D

Heroes of the Storm is 5 player co-op!

(the main action isn't against AI; and AI is easy)

It's team vs. team, :(

Still vs. AI is great to help ease yourself to sleep! :)

My brother says you need this game, or that this game will set you up nicely for your retirement home!

90 Awesome characters; all in all 10 times the bring you back value of Starcraft II Co-op,

And an awsome game overall! :D

So Factorio,

finally back to it!

The 4 E's:

In the beginning you expand and defend (not exterminate).

If you have expanded you can start automating, which needs resources, and start exploiting -- to gain even more resources!!

You are constrained by three factors: time, pollution, and enemy nodes killed (spawners).

These evolve the enemies!!

But you can't help but create a very many trains Factory Empire!!

Research is fun!! :)

Iron bullets wont work when the enemy evolves!

Steel bullets is doable, but depleted uranium heavy bullets is late stage. :)

Different resources: different ways of tacking different problems!

Everything is pretty heavily science and technology related. :D

If you can automate defense and secure everything,

with all those trains and mining stations and factories,

you can explore, expand, and exploit!

And also -- exterminate as much as needed!!

4X to the end:

1) Use your factory empire to research and build a rocket ship!

2) Launch your rocket ship!

4X to victory! :D

Checked wiki; it actually says:

Genre(s)

Construction and management simulation, real-time strategy

Time for an important link, God willing.

How I got here! :eyebrow:

Or...

Further background, and more stories!

Five games!

Not video game threads! :(

Well at least the first two are in very exciting thread(s).

Oh! More boring doesn't necessarily mean being lower in worth for the rest of the threads!

Two old school video games (in a thread) linked inside the thread below (inner thread: Elementals)

(the thread linked below) This will lead to the second thread:

I'm tired, time to post

actually a new post, but there are two more old school games (in the second thread) if you actually go to the beginning! :)

Finally, a really old school game in the end! :)

Anxiety!!

Always been more interested in exploring rather than beating the game or other people, personally, in the sort of games that are based around that. Or a quick round to remember what things were like.

Mainly that's https://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net/ or https://b-em.bbcmicro.com/arculator/occasionally but I do mean to look into https://pcsx2.net/ and https://ps1emulator.com/ at some point, having had the USB controllers for about twenty years.

As far as resource management games go, used to enjoy a bit of https://playclassic.games/games/puzzle- ... rs-online/

Finished the main narrative of Batman: Arkham Knight along with the side missions, some of the story DLC and now working through the Riddler riddles, various DLC and challenge rooms.

Felt like the main narrative ended a bit weak, especially the last ten minutes.

Currently playing Satisfactory.
The aesthetics and the exploration are amazing. Trying to build a factor that fits into the countryside is realistic.
I'm not the most creative person either, but you can play the game with friends, and you can do everything together. I didn't play the game much when it got out, but now, when you can have private servers, it's much more interesting. The more people you play with, the more fun it gets. I rent a server that can have up to 30 players with SuperCraft for only $13. The connection is always stable, even when everyone is online.
