I used a pseudonym to register. :p

EDIT: Hmmm . . . it seems they've removed the picture capture device.

EDIT 2: Just found it. They just didn't have the button.

Ahh, I miss the good ole days of PSP 4:
"You are on day 514 of your 30 day trial period." ;)

Doesn't matter much. I have a friend who's good at getting around those pesky expiration dates.:)

Paint Shop Pro is a good photo editing software, but it's no free anymore.
If someone need a free photo editor, have a look at Gimp, Paint.Net, Pixlr and Photopea.

I'm assuming that's a bot as people don't tend to unnecessarily dredge up twenty year old threads. On the other hand, the spam is a reasonable article that points out some good FOSS options. *shrug*

If anyone is looking these days, I like Krita more than Gimp and Pinta isn't too bad for simple edits. But XnView or XnViewMP does most simple image editing that isn't actually drawing-related well.

Ooh. I still use Gimp, I do prefer it simply on basis of familiarity but Krita looks interesting.

It's worth spending a little bit of time to set up, because its primary audience is people who are into digital painting, graphics tablets, etc. So it has an interesting alternative to the right-click menu for picking tools/colours, for example, which personally I turn off. In every other respect I've noticed it has the same functionality you'd expect from a bitmap editor -- layers, masks, etc. Krita reminds me of editors I've liked in the past like Corel PhotoPaint, PaintShopPro, etc. I don't need to do a great of editing so mainly what I look for is all of the usual features with a familiar enough interface, and Gimp's almost there in that respect with the options to use a single-window mode etc but it understandably wants to cater for existing users first and foremost, so it still feels a bit alien.

If you're not actively following the project, Gimp is now much closer to its long-awaited toolkit port completion and version three release.
