Excel Help.

Post by Target »

Can someone help me, got a problem with Excel, I’m sure it should be something simple but no idea what it is.
In cell E2 I have a list of codes shown as ‘9d, 11b, 10d, 7b, 10c, 7c, 13c, 2f’ but I need them all in separate cells hopefully N2 to U2. Is there a simple formula that can do that??
I don’t really want to have to type them all in as I’ve another 40 rows of them!
Cheers
If you can keep your head when all around are loosing theirs...you probably haven’t grasped the situation!!

Is this a one-time thing, or something you'll need to do all the time?

If it's something you're not going to have to do very often, copy your column E to column U. Then select column U and select the "Text to Columns" function (it's under the Data menu). Select 'Delimited' on the first screen, the select 'comma' as your delimiter. Hit 'Finish' and it should split things out the way you need them.

If you're going to have to do this all the time, you might want to look for a less time-intensive way of doing it, but I don't know one.
