Damn. I was hoping Shockwave (if he made the movie-verse) would be a satellite. Still, Soundwave is communications based (allegedly, but it's Seibertron's "Anonymous Leaker") but either way, some people will be pissed he's not a tape deck.

You're evidently misinformed on his comic appearances, so I'm going to let you off the hook and pretend you didn't post that. He was in stuff AFTER being in limbo. Don't pass off poorly-researched half-facts as actual information please.

He hasn't been in the Encore line, and nobody claimed he was. He was in Takara's TF Collection series.

I fail to see the relevance of Barricade and Blackout being intended as Prowl and Soundwave. Original plans don't change that the police car ended up marketed as Barricade, and just underlines the extent to which you missed the point I was making.

You inferred that Skids is an odd choice of name for a character, because he was only ever in two episodes of the cartoon. Yet Barricade being intended as Prowl somehow excuses the fact that he ended up the namesake of an even more obscure character?

By that logic, they could rename Jetfire as Fistfight and you'd think it more sensible than a character being named after one of the more sought-after Autobot cars.

Your lack of familiarity with the Earthforce stories is your fault, not mine.

Think things through and do some research the next time you make comments about which character names carry the most/least weight. Or, y'know, in general. Unsourced and senseless blanket statements don't go down well with me, as most people I've run over in the past will attest to.

Bay won't be making Soundwave into some Cybertronian tank or cannon. And as for the "playability" of a spy satalite toy...? Seems unlikely too. My money's on that sneaky, preproduction, preprototyped, mocked-up, GM trying to look cool in front of the world, fake Volt. Maybe with a cybertonian spy satalite begining or secondary alt mode or somethin'. i'm curious if this Frenzy like/dreadlock puppet dude will be incorporated into Soundwaves design or just another tiny 'con ala Frenzy and Baracade. You know, just gettin' in the pasenger side and acting "human."

Did no one notice the submarine in the background? I know its only wishful thinking on my part, but wouldnt it be cool if that sub was a 'con?

Bumblebee had two alternate modes in the first movie: old camaro and new camaro. I don't see why it's so hard to understand that some characters in Movie 2: Electric Boogaloo will change alternate modes as they go along as well.

You know, I COULD see it the other way around a bit, though. Bay saying "Let's use these guys!" and getting the CGI of existing toys... but it's a huge stretch. Would be kinda funny, though, that all the 'new' guys in the movie are repaints of the non-movie guys the first time around.
