(Passing through - life is not kind at the moment...)
My darn Windows Media Player 11 has decided it is short of a significant codec, codecs or some other plural thereof and will neither play, rip nor burn.
Tried Windows site for help and downloaded recommended pack from K-Lite, but with no effect. Any suggestions to getting a solution? I really think I'm staring a full Vista reload in the gnashing champers here...
HELP!!!
Codecs... bah!
Never use Windows Media Player, it sucks. Go download Media Player Classic and you will be able to play any video codec there is, more or less.

You might want to try VLC Player. It's the best universal media player IMO.

Movies I've seen recently:
Red
Johnny Got His Gun
A Clockwork Orange
Fight Club
Toy Story 3
Zombieland
Tenacious D The Pick of destiny
Watchmen

I still wonder why Media Player even displays any message at all.
To find out which codec is missing, perhaps give Media Info a try:
http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net
That should at least tell you which codec you need to find.

In a perfect world, this would be a signature. As it stands, it's just the lack of.
VLC.
