Blackout was a helicopter before the Movie.

He are an Energon reference! Maybe.
And those have what to do with how the character will appear in Animated?

I am wondering how Springer would look as well. And if they could get his original voice from back in the day. And how much more of a 'tude would he still have......

Umm and who are you to be the authority of what a character is or is not? I'd love to hear. This is apparently just a prototype image and hasn't been colored or been given any real details. I just hate to see people bash something to just bash it without a real argument for their viewpoint. Yea, it doesn't look like Sideswipe, blah blah blah, but at least these animators are trying to please fans so far.

And who are you to say it's unfinished? Someone thought it was finished enough to put it in someone's scanner and post it on the internet.

The design just looks bad, Sideswipe or not. Looking at it, I have no idea what he turns into, and the wheels on his hips don't help. Is he a motorcycle? Is he a car? Maybe a truck? Maybe those're landing gears for his jet mode?

And Derrick Wyatt had nothing to do with this design. Sideswipe is going to be a character in Titan UK's Animated comics. The animators have been doing a good job pleasing the fans, but they have nothing to do with this.

And don't use that "You're hating just to hate, hater." crap. I heard enough of that last year.

Now this is an argument with reasons behind it. Bravo, and no sarcasm intended. I agree what is he supposed to be, he reminds me of the old Droid Adventures comics from Star Wars starring C3P0 and R2D2. Also reminds me of some of the artists who did the Heavy Metal Magazines strips. That's why I don't hate it. And for all we know this is an unfinished product, designers do publish, sometimes, unfinished work to get a boo or a hiss occasionally and then do the real thing. That is why I am not judging it too harshly until the finished product, and colored and fine tuned, is out there for all to see.

There seems to be too little detail to think that this is in any way a finished picture of Sideswipe. But personally, I think it's the start of a pretty cool looking character. I'd like to see it further refined.

Guess the old rule of "if you're in animated, you're not in Universe, and vice versa" is truly, utterly destroyed

Considering he is only in the UK Comic, most people won't even know about him.
