Sorry, I am late for this forum. I just started seeing these guys in
stores around here. I really like the Protoforms. I bought both,
although I gave one to my brother.

Being a G1 fan, I can say these figures are nothing compared to
Classics, but they weren't supposed to be. I am proud of TFs that
try new things in their series. They should have made Beast Wars
protoforms. The thing I like most about them is the fact that the
robot modes don't look like they turn into anything. I've been
waiting for that feature in a TF for years, at least since Beast Machines. They are re-inventing them to make them better, for the future generations to enjoy. Not all can be big hits(Beast Machines), but I'd rather have new types than a constant slew of copies(Energon,RID, and G1 all have 2nd, 3rd, 4th time Re-issues of the same toys.). The past is great, but we need to think
of the future too. Besides the more things change the more they
stay the same. They will always be Transformers, Prime, Megs, ect...

So say what you like, but I'll defend these guys, well except when
confronted with the obvious mold flaws, bad vehicle balence, the
weird flame plugs, and the easily removed joints. Other than that
I like them, Starscream especially.

You know what they say, "Great Minds Think Alike."

I am glad to see that someone agrees with me on this issue. They
are great toys, and I can't stand here and let them be ripped on at every turn.

Heck, I might even start a review of Starscream, just to point out
the fact that he is cool. Finishing it well that may take a while.

(For those who know about my laptop prob. I have extended Library comp. time now. About an hour.)

Guys.. these toys aren't part of your identity, are they? Don't take it so personally. You don't have to defend them any more than to say "you know, I actually like them". Certainly you don't want to sour discussions against other PEOPLE based on this matter of taste, right?

Yay for hypocrisy from the man who feels the need to blunder into every movie-related topic and proclaim his dislike, under the impression anyone gives a toss...

I guess I did go a little over board, but I'm really pulling for the new movie and its toys to be a success. I didn't get to be part of
the original movie craze, other than buying the VHS and later the
DVD. They might not make another in our lifetimes, so I'm just
hoping for the best, but I am prepared for the worst. Got all the
Classics figures just in case the movie totally bombs. I hope it
doesn't though...

I have real hope this movie will do well. I ask non-fans at work and other random places and the movie seems to be well known and very anticipated.

Non-fans that I talk to are looking forward to massive robot action and destruction.

I think that this movie not only has the potential to to very well but a serious public backing.

Of course this is all anecdotal speculation, but I am convinced.
Come on and wind me up.

I like em both. Bought both figures and is the first time in 2 years I've bought new transformers figures as after Armada (Bought the whole line) and half of Energon. I'd got bored.

The movie designs have grown on me. Didn't like them at first.

I like Proto Prime's robot form mostly over the 2.

Seeing them in-store, they're smaller than I thought. Makes the relative lack of paint apps less noticeable.
