That entire "misinformation" thing came across like one of the usual cases of Bay talking without thinking first. I doubt they'd actually spend time and efford actually deliberately spreading misinformation. Any misinformation is likely to come from random people just looking for attention, without Bay actually having to encourage them.

In fact, that works perfectly well. Some idiot claims random bull****, then Bay can later claim it to be part of his so-called "misinformation campaign" without even twisting a finger. AWESOME!

Did anyone else notice that Primes smokestakes had been shortened? I wonder if the health and safety people though some kid might swallow them or something? :swirly:

(seriously, they are more than likely just like that during transportation.)

There were these en-route-to-first-shooting-site photos of Ironhide in late May, which were also the first to show us the

Why exactly does a pickup need smokestacks anyway?

It probably helps compensate for the fantastic fuel economy (~10mpg I gather - brill compared to my Land Rover pickup's 32mpg - but the thing does look cool).

;)

Oh ive seen those pics...i never noticed the lack of smokestackage though.

And yeah, it just has them cos they look cool. Some custom cars even have smokestacks, even trikes have them too. Its purely a cosmetic custom touch most of the time.

Smokestacks are just for style really. They function mainly so the fumes from exhaust go upwards into the air, rather than down, then up, and into people's lungs. And they just look awesome depending on the vehicle used.

SPOILER! (select to read)
The concept Corvette looks to have taken a lot of inspiration from the old C2 & C3 Sting Rays. It's interesting to see such a dramatic step away from the slightly stylized but largely blocky recent Corvettes.

But, man, I just love Chevy Corvettes!

(I real problem being in the UK and an ecologist dedicated to conservation. But, hey, I could never afford one (or to run one) anyway! So I'll just enjoy looking!)

It would be a shame if this were not Tracks, given he is the iconic Corvette (and was upgraded in Binalts), but I'd be happy for Hot Rod. So long as it gets a cool name...

Can't forget the wee R guy. He's too cool!

The thought of Sideswipe did cross my mind. That would be a good character name to use for such a nice car. At the end of the day, there are a multitude of TF names which could go, and no doubt Bay could come up with his own if he so fancies it. Tracks would have been the most logical from a fanboy perspective, but, it's not really a cool a name as Hot Rod or Sideswipe. (Although I always feel Hot Rod should be very souped up, and half muscle, not a straight car, no matter how nifty it is.)

Spoiler!
SPOILER! (select to read)
I am supprised no one else has mentioned this yet. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are TWINS! Not identical twins, but they have always been referred to as twins. I am thinking they will most likely be the the Trax and Trend we keep hearing as being twins.
