Don said a long time ago Transformers had probably been here since Biblical times...
Maybe the Aztec gods are not unrelated to Transformers, hmm?
Or my South American history could be well off and it's just there's gonna be some snow and ice in one scene.

You're not going to get an original story. Full stop. Doing stuff that's original for the franchise is thus the only route forward, and preferably whilst writing well enough to make it seem fresh.
