I like a lot of the scouts, and pretty much only the scouts. I guess I like simple designs and the scouts are pretty much forced into that by their size. I like the character of the altmode to carry-over into the robot mode. Movie and Animated toys seem to avoid this, hiding them away until sometime...

I imagine subspace would be a stable place, with a "door" that can be accessed by the mech that uses it. It would last indefinitely. A medic like Ratchet or Hook could have a chance of manually accessing the door from the dead chassis if enough of the proper subspace access circuits surviv...
