Looks great, I like the more simplified look with less red.

The pre-order on BBTS is only $39.99, and they're selling Hasbro Classics Jetfire for $44.99. Wouldn't be a hard choice if I could even afford either at the moment.

I feel like an idiot now, rushing out and collecting the Classics line, these Japanese re-paints are simply fantastic.

Depends. Some of them (Bumblebee, for example) are so forcibly "cartoon-accurate" that they look a lot more bland than the Hasbro versions.

Or they use totally random chrome, like Grimlock.

Only ones I think work happen to be Skyfire, Megatron, Starscream, and Astrotrain... and I suppose Powerglide. (Does he count as Henkei, or are they part of a new line?)

Powerglide, Onslaught and Silverbolt are part of Henkei, but as "USA Editions".

Photos of Ramjet, same release date as Skyfire:

The only ones that I would want to buy would be the henkei versions of Thundercraker, and the last two cone heads.

So far the only Henkei I'm looking to buy is Nemesis Prime (or whatever they call him) if I can't get the SDCC exclusive version too easily.

Looks nice though.

If it makes you feel better, you're saving a bundle. Unless you're in one of those countries where the difference in importing is negligible. EDIT: NZ? Might be just as cheap there. For me the Henkei stuff would be twice as much.

Both Skyfire and Ramjet look great! Although, I don't like Skyfire's clear missiles. I'd be afraid to even touch the launchers in fear of firing and losing the missiles.:(

Aye. Clear missiles are a bad idea.

Painful memories of quickly losing Optimal Optimus' missiles (all four of them)... The lack of any color on Henkei Skyfire's missiles also hides the excellent detailing on the missiles themselves, which is a shame.

I thought Jetfire wouldn't get a JP release due to its likeness of Macross.

And Megs looks like a nerf gun here, yet nerf didn't sue.

JP toy safety's also easier to get past. Their reissue megs can fire, for god's sake, and has 20 rounds, ffs. (this is relating to clear missile, slightly)

Hasbro owns Nerf. Besides, Hasbro and Takara make the TF's together. Marcoss is own by a different company altogther.

OK, sorry. All i'm sayin is that many toys have had likeness to other series before, what's to stop jetfire now?

I guess CLA Megs wasn't the best example, but what the heck?

So far of all the Henkei and Classic series paints I've seen, I like the Classic series better.

With one exception...Megatron...gaw he looks like a Nerf Gun!
All that was needed was a catalyst and the machines of war are set in motion.

im not sure i like how ramjets face can be seen under the nose of the plane, its not like he is a car and its covered by the floor, he is a plane and that is the part people see above them, unless of course he flies upside down but then those above hijm would see it, astrotrain would make fun of him

There was a panle that would cover the face in jet mod. IDW showed this during Ramjet's spotlight.
