Collectors' Club Nightbeat review and gallery

Post by Nevermore »

Fellow German fan Philister recently attended the B.O.T.S. convention in the Netherlands, where Hasbro employees were handing out a few advance samples of the upcoming Collectors' Club exclusive Nightbeat toy as contest prizes. As far as I can tell, this is the first full photo gallery of Nightbeat.

(on a sidenote, it appears that the "video review" fad has already died down again, good riddance)
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

I gotta agree with the reviewer that this Nightbeat looks more like Nightbeat than G1 ever did.
Come on and wind me up.

a little off-topic, i got sidetracked on that website and ended up in the star wars section. i don't care much for the sw tf line but was looking at the death star vader pictures and noticed one where it was paired with primus.

i had no idea they had come out with a primus figure.

okay, back to talking about nightbeat...

Yeah, one was released in 2006 (?). It's a nifty thing, but like other $50 toys, nifty didn't make any difference.

It's not entirely unlikely that you can't still find one in a store on clearance.

It doesn't look at much like the G1 Nightbeat as my G1 Nightbeat does, but that's because I had gotten most of a Siren off of a friend of mine and swapped the faces. Probably should have swapped the helmet's too, but I couldn't find any paint in the appropriate color.

That being said, I do kind of like this Classics Nightbeat. How much are they flogging us for after you join their little club?

I'm probably going to kitbash it if I get one. He needs antenna, after all....

Good lord. Either that is a bunch of yellow paint on the car, a bunch of dents, or really bad lighting.

Not bad. I'm not a huge fan of the Energon Hot Shot mold, but it's a good update for Nighbeat. If I end up joining the club again I might snag him.

Maybe at Botcon 2010, but the lack of antennas coupled with the price tag doesn't make him very appealing to me.

Nightbeat: -looking at his preview comic- "What..... wings? I've got wings?"

Muzzle: "I'd think you'd be more worried about the fact that I'm not actually attached to you."

Nightbeat: "Maybe this version of me is a Targetmaster."

Muzzle: -shaking head- "The gun is clear. Maybe.... ah. I give up. Not a clue, really." -looks over at Minerva- "What d'you think, sis?"

Minerva: -ripping her Master armor helmet off, blonde hair streaming out- "Does this LOOK like red hair? And what's with the atomic smasher rifle?!?!?!?!? I'm a PACIFIST, DAMNIT!!!!!!"

Muzzle: "Er...... right....."

Minerva: -sighs- "It's Marilyn Monroe/Vicki Vale all over again......."

Siren: -loudly- "And what's with having me yell? I don't yell all the time!"

Quig: "You could have fooled me......."

Nightbeat: "What are you complaining about? At least you've got your old look. While I like the Vanquish vehicle mode, the wings just aren't doing anything for me."

Muzzle: "Looks like the team is having issues with some character representations, but don't have any complaints about the writing. Join us next time for our review of Dostoyefski's 'Death of a Cossak by Salesman's Sample Case'."

-------

Hosehead: "So what am I doing during all of this?"

Lug: -shrugs- "Beats me."

I was actually surprised Grimlock and Starscream weren't in there. ;)

I kinda liked Sludge, though. "You missed window!"
