Takara Encore 09 Minibots lineup revealed

Bumblebee was known, but thus far we assumed the other four would be Powerglide, Warpath, Cosmos and Huffer.

Instead, Takara will release... Swerve, Outback, Tailgate and Pipes.

Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.

Well, I do need to get a new gun for Outback.......
As a professional tanuki (I'm a Japanese mythological animal, and a good luck charm), I have an alarm clock built into me somewhere. I also look like a stuffed animal. And you thought your life was tough......

Awesome. This is a good sign. TakTomy obviously see him as a cornerstone of the line.

****ing A! The decent Minibots get a release... Tailgate has a face, Pipes is a minor masterpiece considering the crap he came from, same goes for Outback, and Swerve... well, okay, Gears was better than Swerve, but overall it's a good choice. For a start, you're less likely to find the remoulds going for 1p on ebay.

I like this. It's nice to see different moulds (well, sort of different) reissued rather than the usual Starscream, etc. Granted, they're not the better of G1 figures, but gosh, they're so darn cute. The set doesn't really need Wheelie and Hubcap to make it a "proper" set, anyway. Hubcap probably would interest me more if, say, he was coloured differently, since a teeny bit more effort was put into the other moulds so as not to resemble the originals their based on. Plus...there's always the knock-off :glance:. But, yeah, these are (in my opinion) the better of the mini-bots. Slightly more elusive than to others too, which might be their charm. Nice to see them getting some attention.

Those look really good, actually. Well, aside from Huffer's - it makes him look more like Outback IMO.

I already thought it was nifty that these guys were getting some love, but jinkies, those new paint apps look nice. Swerve actually has a face now, rather than a red blob and the subtle detail on Outback is so welcome. Very nice.

It's probably swung me towards buying the set, what with not owning Outback or a pukka Bumblebee (I gave Sar a keyring), as spiffy versions of Swerve and Tailgate would be nice. Can't see any differences to Pipes, but a C-10 one wouldn't hurt, especially as many of the Encore releases seem to be on ebay for reasonable prices.

i have to admit, the faces being painted helps each mold spectacularly. i would buy he set only for the repainted/remoulded faces myself. anywho, maybe if enough of these sell we'll see more encores :D.
