Hasbro is relaunching HeroQuest

Post by Denyer »

Saw this over lunch. It seems to be a more-or-less straight redo with modern style assets. It's Hasbro Pulse, which = **** the rest of the world outside of the US/Canada, and I have to say lacks the charm of the realistic Les Edwards art that the original had. It's clearly had a lot of effort put in (including two expansion packs) but it doesn't seem as interesting as the abortive unofficial 25th anniversary game and if it's a literal redo it doesn't bode well for this fan site which has archived a lot of old materials.

So... glad it exists, but not as exciting as seeing the original artwork again in high resolution, and I'm not getting a hankering to recover the set I got on eBay and left with a friend some years back. It's a game in serious need of better rules, which I'm sure folk at BoardGameGeek will have done but we didn't find time to get into it to that extent.

Quick update -- there's now a UK stockist and opportunity to get the crowd funding bonuses. This apparently also includes the expansion sets in the price.
