Superman Lives!

Post by Nevermore »

Around 1997, Warner was planning to turn the "Death of Superman" storyline into a movie, titled "Superman Lives". Tim Burton was supposed to direct, Kevin Smith was hired to write a script, Nicolas Cage was supposed to play Superman, and Sandra Bullock would have played Lois Lane.

Kevin Smith later recapped the story how producer John Peters was adamant that a giant mechanical spider should be in the story. (Peters later went on to produce "Wild Wild West", which featured... a giant mechanical spider. Go figure.)

Now a photo of Nicolas Cage dressed up as the reborn Superman has surfaced.

A bullet well and truly dodged there.

Thank goodness as we never would have gotten Ghost Rider.

I'll get my coat.
