Post by secretcode »

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... mp-166783/

As well as announcing a new Collector's Club-style store, they have announced Strafe (Cyclonus Repaint) as a club exclusive.

Depending on the side you sign up and register on, you get a different membership card and a Minicon. Autobot members get Slingshot (Minicon Thunderwing repaint),and Decepticon Members get Vorter (Minicon Divebomb repaint).

UPDATE

Images of the upcoming Henkei exclusive Strafe have recently surfaced on a ganbo-store blog entry.

Great minicon Sling, bot vorter ad Strafe aren't that appealing. Strafe has two cannons at the front, ffs.

That's why i'm bashing Saviour Gundam instead. :p

Wow. Uni-Cyclonus as Strafe. I so called that! Not on any forum, mind, but in my own head when I was trying to come up with Uniclassics Technobots.

Cyclonus as Strafe? That's unusual.

I expected SWTF Snowspeeder used as Strafe, but never Cyclonus.

Uni Tech: moulds i came up with a while ago:

Lightspeed: CLA Hot Rod
Scattershot: Voyager Cybertron Screamer (TRU excl)
Strafe: 1/144 scale Saviour Gundam (3rd pic will explain why.)
Nosecone: Modified Ultimate Battle Megatron (spinning gimmick, just add drill)
Afterburner: Some scout class bike, probably a heavily modified Arcee.

@BJ: What's the point of using SWTF molds they sucked anyways. ;)

I'm just saying the alt modes are similar. The molds suck. And they're more expensive than deluxes at that.

Megatron for Nosecone? Never thought of that.

just to clarify, RE the minicons, you need to take out a japanese credit card to get one of these? maybe not. Although I'll happily run a book on how much they're gonna cost at the dealers tables by next botcon...

oh, and once again, TFCC comapres as 'unfathmobly cr*p' when held up against any other club-style website / organisation.

Yeah, i know, mate. Just joking, is all. :)

As for Megs, I just thought that it would be better for Nosecone's drill to spin. So: Spinning + Tank = Ultimate Battle Megatron.

@ Borg: Yeah, the whole idea of getting a credit card for these is a bit annoying. the annual fee of the credit card is basically the cost of the minicon. ;)

Nononono. These are points cards for the club or something. They aren't technically credit cards.

You sure? If i'm reading it right, you sign up for their credit card, and then get a minicon and points card along with it.

Just doing straight repaints of characters with really distinctive heads never works anyway, so perhaps they decided it wasn't worth any real effort?

Yeh, Strafe's not doing it for me. I'm going to take a pass on this one.

I'm not liking this at all. Mostly due to the lack of a head remold.

Whatever happened to the classic 'Golden Cyclonus' 'Dark Cyclonus' 'Reverse Color Cyclonus' and all that stuff?

Hmmm . . . not terrible. I probably wouldn't pay more than the $10 deluxe price point for him though . . .

Pointy-headedness aside, if the head were white it could have pulled off a Strafe-ish look a teeny bit better. Mind, this also requires a little bit of imagination.

Still, if you always wanted to know what Ratchet would look like as a jet, than here you go.

The deco isn't bad. But it's not worth the extra cash for being exclusive, IMO. (Henkei Cyclonus and Universe Cyclonus look better)

Well that's an easy pass.

On seeing it in color, the vehicle mode would have worked for Scattershot better.
