How could I have ever doubted them?

Unsurprisingly, Henkei Ironhide kicks Hasbro's ass. *sigh*

Galavatron looks okay; I'm still not a fan of his mold, though.

Galvatron looks better without that odd orange in every joint, but I don't see much point with the chrome on the turret sides. Henkei Ironhide looks much better, especially with the painted windows not being as glaringly brighter than the translucent ones!:D

Tomy/Takara's Ironhide is much better than Hasbro's. Preordered.

Rockin'!

I must scrimp and save for Ironhide, but will have to give Galvy a miss - never was too fond of the original toy design and, although this is much better than I anticipated, I don't think I'll go there.

Cheers for the heads-up, Nevermore, as usual.

Wow - I am so impressed by the improvement that is Henkei Ironhide!

I had hoped Takara would solve Habro's problems (terrible painted windows, and bright bright red!). I am a little surprised they've not gone down the obvious route of chroming the bullbar though.

Galvatron looks better, but I'm still not sure about the mould.

New sale thread added with a range of Transformers including Masterpiece, Botcon, CHUG, RID, Movies etc.

Looking for MP-11T Thundercracker and MP-9 Rodimus v2 (Takara version with as few QC issues as possible).

Check out my new sale thread now!

Also items on eBay.

Henkai Ironhide is far superior to Hasbro's but I'd like to know if he has the Oregon License plate that Hasbro has?

If not I guess I could make one...
All that was needed was a catalyst and the machines of war are set in motion.

The big problem with Galvatron is his feet from what I can see. They look like they are just stuck on and no real substance to really keep them in their place. Is it a real problem btw with his feet? And I wish they had made the mold bigger since Galvatron is a big fella compared to other Transformers.

Problems not so much his feet as it is his knees, arms, random other parts are made to fall apart rather than break. If you're going to make something that complex then it's better to make it bigger (how are you gonna make the likes of Onslaught, Silverbolt, Powerglide et. all in the Ultra Class and not at least make Galvie a voyager?) and maybe add a few pins to the joints to keep them in place.

And even though I like the tank idea.... Why not his G1 self of the self propelled cannon, or whatever it was? It was a great idea on paper, and with modern casting and other techniques, it would look great and be a much more stable figure imho.

Probably because it'd look too much like a gun? Hasbro won't produce anything that might be considered a safety issue.

hmm Classics Megs was a gun... ... Nerf looking or not. Once a company slaps an orange tip on it doesn't become an issue then. That and the subsidiary companies of Hasbro, if any, if they produce the sound effect toy guns then where is the safety issue then? As long as there is an orange tip there is no issue.

Hasbro still won't touch most things that could be mistaken for a weapon from a distance and/or could be easily modified by a customer. It's not in their interest to.

In the thread with all the questions for Hasbro, one of the sites asked about Galvatron's "third" mode. The response was that Takara initially designed Galvatron as a triple-changer (which is why there are some odd extra pieces on Galvatron that don't really make much sense). The Hasbro designer did say that initially he designed a Galvatron as a moveable cannon (much like his G1 version) but they went with the Takara version instead (can't remember why).

The question was specifically if when Takara released Galvatron, would they include his third mode in the instructions. It appears from the pics that that is probalby not happening.

He also said that initially they wanted it to be bigger, but decided against it because they already had Onslaught as an Ultra (which was a tank like transformer).

These two make my day good again. I like Galv cause of his transformation which I think is pretty much Uneasy if you see him on first sight. Ironhide looks great but I don't like those screws on the front of his arms. Any chance they come to Holland???
