I think this might be just to show off the package for RotF, but Superion will be released in the Universe 25th Anniversary packaging. I could be wrong, though.

That makes no sense at all. Why go through the effort of creating new packaging for a toy that already HAS packaging, only to reveal the new packaging design to the interwebs, and THEN release the toy in the old packaging after all?

Probably they'll be releasing Superion and Bruticus in both ROTF and Universe...

Though if they do that, Nevermore would've noticed all the barcode and product numbery stuff... :D

I just got Superion and Bruticus here in AUS, if that helps anyone. Found them in a Myer store, of all places.

So they're back to using the Universe packaging... At first it doesn't make much sense, but then, it's Hasbro here. Logic isn't their strong suit it seems.

They're not "back". They don#t change this in a couple of days.

Two scenarios I could see:

1) Superion and Bruticus are released in Australia, Singapore etc. in Universe packaging. Then they come out in ROTF packaging in the USA.

2) Superion and Bruticus are released in Universe packaging first, and in ROTF packaging later.

I'd bet on 2). It would be weird to have Superion and Bruticus In ROTF packaging, when no one else is. Unless this is gonna continue?

don't Oz get USA packaging normally (due to location and language), or is there no particular convention for who gets what packaging IE hasbro make it up as they go for each new line... ?

I'm guessing that it's some wierd test shot, just to show off the packaging.

But's overly strange to see. Unless they WILL be combining Universe and ROTF packaging whilst the movie runs. Just a thought.

We shall see.

Yes.

I doubt that. They wouldn't use a store exclusive for that. (Besides, I'd have expected the packaging to be revealed at Toy Fair.)

Have seen them both at Target, $69.95 each (probably to be reduced a fair bit for the Boxing Day sales). Both in the Universe packaging.

I really wanted these at one time until I went onto Seibertron and saw the fan customs for these involving Classics molds for each side..... And the way that guy did them, why couldn't HasTak just done that.... I wouldn't mind paying that much, 69.99 or above, for a very well made toy.... *le sigh*

Everybody says that, but I think the market says otherwise. Masterpiece Prime and Starscream, both expensive, (ostensibly) well made toys, both in the clearance aisle for lack of sales. Plus the general griping that comes on the boards any time Hasbro raises prices by a dollar.

So that's about $45 US (according to the internet)? Are TFs typically more expensive over in Australia? (i.e. if a voyager in the US is ~$20, is it ~$25-30 USD in Australia?)

Basically what I'm getting at, is this set going to be around $40 US here in the states?
