Mindwipe ran as Apuron started entering Scorponok's lab, thinking to himself as he ran. Why did he have to be stuck with him? It wasn't his fault, not really. He was a simple interagator at Alitex Prison escorting Apuron, who had been aressted for hacking into a drone mainframe and nearly killing officer Kick Off in the progress, when the signal from his Hypno Transmut collided with Apurons Hacking Prod and caused a near blackout. When it was fixed he was informed that he couldn't go a distance away from them without suffering a bad shock before being sent to Kaon as punishment.

Clearing thoses memories for a second, Midwipe followed Apuron into the lab...

(OOC: @Chip, sorry 'bout that, I missed that bit of your post. Edited the Sentinel post in Iacon thread to reflect Sentinel's annoyance at being shut off. Thank godness Aero was being vague on what Yoketron was observing.
@Ulcrain, the temple is not Scorponok's lab.)

"We got one volunteer, at least. You're a brave soldier, Topspin." Warpath sighed as he holstered his weapon. "I swear, this thing is rather frustrating. Any other volunteers? If no, let us troop back to the shuttle, and reopen the commlink channel. Prima knows that when we get back Sentinel will screw me over the commlink malfunction."

"Confident?" Obsidian scoffed at Clench's words. "Over-confident, perhaps. This is Megatron's territory, it won't be much of a challenge. Even if by some miracle Sunstreaker can beat Megatron in combat, something which, considering the backup plans the stadium must have had, he won't be able to escape alive... or at least with his dignity intact. The security here are quite... overzealous, from what I've seen"

Obsidian's skeletal fingers plucked a cube of high-grade energon wine from a passing servitor.

Briefly Obsidian mused at the simplicity of the energon cube. Many Iaconites prefer their energon poured as liquid into glamorous glass containers with unique designs, a crude waste of resources. The cube's simplicity is beautiful, like Cybertron, in its own way.

"I think Megatron will have this match in hard quicker than we think." Clench replied to Obsidian. "People want a strong leader. They wouldn't follow him if lost. And Megatron wouldn't risk losing his supporters, not unless it was a ruse - something where he wouldn't really risk losing them, but would have the appearance of doing it. That being said, I do still think Sunstreaker would give him a fight were this fight held on neutral ground."

Enjoying the banter, Clench thought about his recent conversation with a certain gladiator. "There's also a newcomer, goes by Grimlock, who I think could give either of them a run for their money. He's trying to get himself some better representation and get the higher profile matches. He's definitely got the aptitude for the arena."

"Someone's gotta take the risk. Might as well be me." Topspin said in reply to Warpath, full of bravado.

Rapido laughed at Topspin's comments. "I like the spirit, kid. But bravery will only get you so far. Look at what happened to Impactor. Slagging good fighter, but you still need someone to watch your back. If no one else volunteers, my partner in the area, Jazz, may still be around. We got separated on the way here. May be of some help to you. If you need tech or weapons, I'd head over to those scientists, Wheeljack and Highbrow, who were mentioned earlier."

Decepticon Command Base

Lugnut groaned. "If you tell him we ran away from the Autobots in our first battle, Skywarp, he's never going to let us out again. You gotta say it differently, so it sounds less like...well, less like cowardice."

Transforming to robot mode, he glared down at the repair drones that scuppered out and began to tend to their wounds.

Predacon grinned toward Sixshot. "Oh, 'creator' is so formal. You can call me 'daddy', if you'd like." He jerked one thumb toward Scorponok. "That one, you should probably still call 'creator'."

Then Sixshot asked his questions.

"What is a Decepticon?" Predacon smiled. "A Decepticon is someone who sees the world for the sick, perverse place that it is. Someone who sees all the death, chaos and destruction around him and doesn't flinch. Someone who's sick of being on the receiving end of all of that and is more than ready to start dishing it out. The Decepticons are the future, Sixshot, and you're one of the first steps we're taking on the road to get there."

His smile grew a bit lopsided when Scorponok suggested siccing his organic pet on the Autobots' commander. "Well, I'll say this for the plan," he chuckled. "They won't see you coming. Good luck, Ginrai."

In spite of his cackles, his hands were quickly flying across the keyboard, making ready the programs he'd need to give life to Finback's new body.

"There are no such thing as a fair fight in real life." Obsidian told Clench. "Sportsmanship and the like are ideals dreamed up by a bunch of people who can't stand to face reality. Whatever the reason, Sunstreaker is walking to his own death here."

Obsidian cocked his head to one side when Clench mentioned Grimlock. The name seemed... familiar. Somehow. Was it the campaign to eradicate the rabid 'demons', or... Ah, yes. The soldier with the brain damage. Another one fallen into the dregs of society.

But Grimlock, despite his brutish power, was not stupid. No wonder, then, since people are always so taken in by physical appearances...

"Grimlock was an... acquaintance of mine." Obsidian said, tapping his chin with a skeletal finger. "You do know my line of work?"

"Do we want to evacuate your scientist allies?" Warpath asked Rapido. "Things will get messy here and the last thing we need is to have some kind of doomsday weapon these scientists usually have fall into these Decepticons."

Turning to Topspin, Warpath gave him a nod. "Good luck, Spinner."

Grimlock watched the proceedings with the Autobots from afar, his eyes taking in the ruins and the corpses around him. He did not say anything, did not know what to think about all this. He was just... indifferent. Apathetic. Grimlock transformed into tank mode and drove off.

Skywarp shrugged as the repair drones tended to his wounded exostructure. Skywarp was built of the Skyraider-Seeker bodyframe, so spare parts were ready. Wings and armor pieces were removed and quickly replaced.

"So, I'll have to cook up something, Lugnut? We gave the Autobots a walloping. Then we thought it'd be good for them to learn to fear us, so we left some of them alive." Skywarp winced as a tiny insectoid drone tended to his facial wound. "Basically, we'll sift all the blame on that disappearing Thundercracker."

Sixshot turned to Predacon. "You're my 'daddy'." Sixshot said. He searched his databases for the definition of the somewhat alien word, and nodded. Turning to Scorponok. "So you, creator, are my 'mommy'."

Scorponok opened his mouth to shoot down that suggestion, but Predacon spoke first, and Scorponok felt that it was better to let Sixshot understand who he is supposed to be rather than argue about titles.

Pressing a command into the computer system on his viewcreen to summon a ship, Scorponok watched as Sixshot listened to Predacon with optics narrowed into slits, before the sixchanger spoke. "I understand, daddy. We will be the ones to turn the tables on the oppressors that mommy spoke of." Sixshot nodded. "Show me who to kill, creators."

Scorponok resisted the urge to chuckle at Sixshot, who addressed them in terms of endearment used by organics while speaking with a gravely voice about genocide. Scorponok turned to Ginrai, "Go now, my creation. You can hitch a ride on a small nondescript shuttle I have just summoned here. (OOC: Ginrai will find it floating outside the Temple) Good hunting, Ginrai. We are the future."

Sixshot's optics blazed with anticipation as he replied to Predacon and Scorponok.

He really could not care less for whatever reason Daddy Predacon spouted at him. Justice, revenge, whatever the heck it is...

All he knew that his creators would tell him what to destroy.

And to destroy will fill this yawning, aching void he feels within him...

Sixshot watched Ginrai, looking at what he would do...

Ginrai pondered what had been said. Something didn't feel right. He had no compunctions killing this Sentinel. He was a target and Ginrai's function was to remove targets set before him. What bothered him was Predacon and Scorponok's view on the world and their place in it. Ginrai wasn't "Worldy" by any stretch of the imagination - but the only death and destruction he had seen was commited by the Decepticons hands...

Still, he had orders....

"It will be done......." he let his voice trail off.

"Beast Mode!" Ginrai called as he transformed, and lept/ran his way out of the chamber and over the rubble of the tunnel. As he was exiting the Temple, he spotted Apuron and Mindwipe who seemed slightly lost.

Ginrai >>>> Scorponok
Two Transformers wandering around the Temple. Seem to be looking for you by their statements. Might want to check this out.

Ginrai exited the Temple and spotted the shuttle, transforming to Robot mode and bording it. He spotted, in the back, a rapid-transit Hoverboard ment for Minicons who needed to repair the shuttle or do rescue work if the shuttle if it crashes at high altitude.

He sat in the chair, claiming "Iacon - War Academy" as his destination, feeling the shuttle lift off under him.

(OCC: Will be out of town for a few days due to a wedding, I'll start the Ginrai assault on Iacon when I get back).

"Hmm." Scorponok nodded as he acknowledged Ginrai's words. "We will take care of it. Good hunting."

Looking for him? While initially Scorponok thought Ginrai had run into one of their associates, Scorponok knew that the little ape had met and seen everyone. So this is an unknown quality. This better not be his lawyer... Turning to Predacon and Sixshot, Scorponok said, "We have company. Two Transformers, seem to be looking for little old me."

"Shall I destroy?"

"Not yet, Sixshot."

"When can I destroy something?"

"If these newcomers prove hostile."

"Works for me," Lugnut told Skywarp as the drones welded shut all the damage to his arms. "And it's almost true, anyway. I mean, it's what I was trying to do, and it's how it would have gone down if that Impactor clown had enough common sense to run when I gave him the chance."

After another minute or so, the drones stepped away and Lugnut rose to his feet.

"All ready to go?"

Predacon chuckled. "That was what we call a 'joke', Sixshot." Turning to Scorponok, he asked, "So...what should we have him level first? You think there's any cities that Lord Megatron won't miss too much?"

When the other Decepticon announced that they had visitors, he shrugged. "What do you figure? Shambling wrecks looking for a place to pray, or Autobot commandos hoping to liberate their precious holy relic from our filthy infidel hands?"

(OOC: If no one objects, I'm retconning the Autobot shuttle into Sky Lynx being there all along. He'll take everyone back. I've been away recovering but well enough to return now.)

Command Post Ruins

The very young Autobot moved diligently through the labyrinthine rubble that was once the Command Post. Somehow he'd gotten separated from the others while searching for survivors. He held the ener-rifle tightly in his hands, the weapon pointed at any potential enemy.

The ghostly landscape unnerved Switch. He'd been eagerly expecting combat for the first time, but the dissapointment he felt was quickly replaced by numb shock. This aftermath and the wounded were somehow worse than anything he imagined combat itself could be..

I haven't seen any survivors out here...I;m lost...Got to get back...

Nervously, the Autobot moved through the smoking rubble, trying to retrace his steps.

========

Sky Lynx, for his part, had amazingly remained silent for the duration of the mission as he relayed to and from Iacon. As always, he was ready to do what was needed, to offer his experienced aid, but the great saurian commander was silent as the wounded were loaded aboard his hold.

This scar upon glorious Cybertron--his Cybertron--pierced the mighty Transformer to his cores. He ached as if their wounds were his own.

If only I'd arrived sooner. This carnage would never have happened and innocents not slaughtered so.

Sky Lynx remained grimly quiet. His fatal tardiness was not the sole cause of this needless loss of life. One word came to his mind.

Sentinel.

Damn you!

This is as much your doing. You placed them in harm's way. I tried to tell them you were promoted too quickly, that you needed more time, guidance, experience--!

Sky Lynx waited for everyone to return.

(OOC: Scorponok's lab, one of it, is hidden underground in the Acid Wastes, an inhabitable location near Kaon's borders which only he can access. Predacon's lab, however, is in Kaon Polytechnic Institute. Both are liable to be booby-trapped, have security measures and data be encrypted so it's not a good idea to sneak in without their owner's permission.)

Decepticon Command Base

"Yeah, Lughead. Let's go. You done, Red?" Skywarp asked Thrust as he cricked his head to one side and the to the other. Wiggling his new wings, Skywarp appraised them and nodded. "Needs more paint, but it'll do. Onwards to Kolkular?"

"A joke." Sixshot processed it, then nodded. So his creators are not really bereft of this sense called humour. The sixchanger's optics brightened. He might like his creators after all.

He watched mommy... Creator Scorponok as he shrugged at Predacon's question. "Vos? The big guy is from Tarn, Tarnians hate Vos by principle. Besides, it's small enough to say 'oops' if Megatron isn't pleased."

Sixshot processed this information, then asked, "This Megatron is our master?"

"Our leader, yes." Scorponok told Sixshot, then shrugged. "Commandos make less noise than that. I'd say the wrong people in the wrong place in the wrong time." Scorponok pulled out his antigravity rifle, and with a quick snap chucked out the empty power battery and clicked in a new one. "Let us pay them a visit." With that, Sixshot's burly creator walked up the steps.

Sixshot turned to Predacon with a questioning glance, as if waiting for orders to follow.

Mindwipe sighed as he pulled Apuron along. They were going on a adventure just trying to find this guy and he was debateing the point. Truth to be told, it wasn't Scoraponk who he was looking for, it was Predacon. He wanted Predacon to free him from his cursed chain with Apuron and he'd do anything for it. And with that he truged on, freely acceptinging anything just to get there...

(OOC: Warcry I'm just asking if Mindwipe can get fixed by Predacon, I don't want them chined togeter much longer)

OOC: Back from the busiest week of my life!

Kolkular

There was a definite drag on everything he did. It was something a mech who prized themself on being absolutely perfect on would notice and notice quickly. It wasn't natural and didn't seem to affect Megatron's vocoder or likely the rest of him. It didn't surprise Sunstreaker that Megatron was cheating, it did shock him that he had to resort to it before a combination of blows had been thrown. He was nervous, he knew Sunstreaker was better as well as Sunstreaker did.

"Even your toughened joints won't take it forever." Sunstreaker replied. As Megatron bull rushed, Sunstreaker took two quick stop backs and then launched him self forward as if to meet the Decepticon warlord head on. At the last second he quickly dropped down at the larger charging mech, swinging one leg hard at the front of the knee, and the other hard at the back, scissoring Megatron's leage and to trip him forward with a good fold fashioned drop toe hold.

Apuron was about to respond to Scorapoak's question when Mindwipe screwed his circatry to prevent him from proably getting themselves killed as he spoke up. ''M-my names Mindwipe and this here's Apuron'' he started, showing a bit of a stammer in his voice '' I'm here since I'm chained to this loon and I've been looking for you to break the chain. I've got usfel abilites, you just saw them, didn't you?'' he fineshed, waiting for a response...

Clutching his left arm as if it were an immediate remedy to evict the pain surging through it—pain harrassing every area of his frame—Hot Spot listened to the discussions between the reinforcements of Iacon. Most of them he found himself silently agreeing with, but there was one particular that emerged from one of the discussions he wanted to advocate against. Whether or not his reasons would be sufficient enough to modify the already given order remained to be seen.

Warpath, if I may.” Hot Spot approached Warpath, his case thought out and prepared to be delivered. “I understand you want the majority of us to return to Iacon, but could you reconsider Streetwise's return? His abilities would prove invaluable to Topspin—who, by the way, is on his own for this mission. Not exactly ideal, I would think.”

Streetwise was an exceptional tracker, boasting a remarkable eye for detail; very little could elude his view. Adding those attributes to his great intelligence and determination Hot Spot thought he was the perfect candidate for the mission.

“Blades and I will still be able to give full reports to Sentinel without Streetwise. And it wasn't as if he and Blades spent as much time with those Decepticons as Impactor and I did anyway, so I don't think there'll be any vital information Sentinel will be missing out on.” Hot Spot smiled underneath his mouth-plate. “But if Streetwise does go on this mission, there's a good chance we'll learn more about these so-called Decepticons. And he'll be providing the necessary support Topspin will need.”

"I've heard of you." Scorponok told Mindwipe, wrinkling his nose in disgust. "You're a mystic." Scorponok spat the word out, the atheist in him loathing anything and everything that's related to religion and not pure, simple science.

More manpower is always good, though... as an entrepreneur, Scorponok had learnt that.

"But yes, your abilities may be... useful. Tell me, Mindwipe, what brings you and your..." Scorponok gestured at Apuron, "...companion to this Temple? Place which used to be a Temple, anyhow."

Mindwipe spoke up, knowing that the question had to be ansawerd. ''You see, I was attached to this freak in a accceident and now I can't go five metres without getting a potenchially fatal shock. I'm willing to work for you and your pal Predacon as long as you fix that. Oh, and I'm not myistic, I'm..'' Mindwipe pulled his bio card out, handing to Scorponok ''So, what about? Can I work with you on the exchange?'' Mindwipe fineshed, watching Apuron as he stopped stumbleing started running up...

(OOC: The real reason why I want Mind fixed is so I can drop Ap for a little while so I can play Ratchet in Iacon. Oh, and Blackjack, Mindwipe isn't a myistic right now, I'm planing for him to become one when the Con's meet The Fallen that's allright with you)

Motormaster watched as the few Autobots that were left talked. "Stunticons," he whispered, "once the Autobots leave we'll strike the few that are left. Make sure their sparks exist no more."
"I have been a fool. Made mistakes. Monumental ones. But I have gained a clear understanding of my place in the universe. Of who I am. Starscream: aligned with no side; servant, to no one."
