Man, I'm so bad with comic titles...

My vote is for whichever one it was that Prime got himself fragged so Megs could cheat at a computer game.
That, for my money, is the bonehead move of all time by Optimus.

That's "Afterdeath". The rest of the story wasn't that awful, but the ending was one of the worst things I've ever seen. 'Twas a new low at the time for your dear friend and mine, Bob Budiansky....

I always thought Afterdeath was quite good when you consider that the premise was absolutely flimsy. It coulda been a whole lot worse.

"But they killed Prime!"

Yeah? And? Prime dies. It's what he does.

Maybe Prime's insides are made of your average PC architecture, it would explain why both die so frequently.

Eh, for those reading the comic from beginning to end who don't know that he'll return, it's frustrating because he hasn't died before (unless you count the stuff in the first four issues as "death") and it seems like an idiotic way for the most powerful TF around to go...

What about that issue where Skids is receiving a car wash from that lady? They both seem to be enjoying it a little too much.

And for those reading in the UK, he'd only gatecrashed his funeral the day before...

Plus he'd been assumed dead in Target 2006. He always finds a way.

Good point...how many times DID he die in the UK continuity?

Hmm... full UK continuity, with some varying on what you count as a death:-

#8 - Get tw@ed by Shcokers from the rafters...
#97 - A clone is blown up by Megatron.
#106 - Ethan Zachary blows him to crumbs...
#109 - Ratchet blows the body up, just to make sure.
#161 - In Megs' warped mind, Straxus tears Prime to pieces.
#174 - Brainstorm blows up a new Prime body to give the first page some dramatic impact.
#229 - Bludgeon decapitates a clone [doesn't count; listed out of curiosity]
#323 - Prime croaks it on the third or fourth page, allowing Prowl to get his nomation for Best Supporting Actor

Can't think of any others... so the answer I think is 3 times, though I'm too lazy to check...

Yep, that would be the one. No one else found this issue odd?

Carwash of Doom ain't too bad at all if we're talkign relatively. Aside from the fact it's obviously all done for laffs [the thing's called "Buster Witwicky and the Carwash of Doom", I don't think it was really intended to be the Dark Phoenix saga...], it's much better than at least 10-15 stories... Plus Ratbat's in it. Ratbat rocks.

He was deader after the Ark crash than he was after Shockers zapped everyone... at least when he was in paperweight mode he was still "conscious"...
