One of the potentially thousands of gigantic clues you missed
BREAKING - You don't know what happened but all of a sudden there's, like, an eighth or ninth Transformers movie out, say reports from your local cinema. That's weird because you swear you just heard about a fourth or fifth one but, man, time must have just got away from you. You've been pretty busy lately.

The news of your surprise has been met with scepticism from all quarters. 'Didn't you see the giant billboards right outside your house?' your friend said when learning of how out of touch you've become. You guess you just learned to screen those out. 'We watched the sixth or seventh movie together,' said your significant other, equal parts hurt and amused. They must have blended together. You were sure Kelsey Grammar was in one or more of them. You can say that for sure, though it seems a little weird now that you think about it.

Despite being unmoved by the media blitz surrounding each major release from a franchise you have some emotional investment in, you did somehow manage to casually buy some lower-priced toys and merchandise from a few films you somehow missed. Closer inspection of a toy you own which you thought was a Barricade from the third or fourth film turns out to have a copyright mark that can't possibly synch up with those releases. A large cross-promotional soda cup at the back of the top cupboard your kitchen is stamped with images of characters from the brand both familiar and unknown to you, in the unmistakable style and design that makes the films a household name.

'I guess I ought to go out and watch it,' you mumble to the unstoppable advertising juggernaut that seems to be, and must have been, everywhere.

Little do you know that you saw it already last weekend.
