I'm very concerned about the matter of Prime combining with Jetfire or anyone else. It seems to infringe upon his individuality as portrayed in G1, and detract from his prowess as a warrior. Can't he get the job done himself as he often did in the comic and cartoon? I'll try to reserve judgment but so far, I don't like the idea.

-Sideswipe (Chevy Corvette Continential)
-Soundwave
-Ravage
-The Fallen
-Megatron(tank)
-Jetfire(Blackbird jet, can combine with Prime)
-Devastator (Combiner, not the tank)

Makes you wonder what Michael Bay will say about the first Devastator/Brawl thing though.

Hope Jetfire won't combine with Prime, only gestalts are supposed to combine, dangit!

Apparently someone has seen advance previews of the toys at a trade show. Though the toys doing it doesn't mean the film characters will be.

It's perfectly within the realms of possibility that within the script they can figure a way of some sort of combining technology especially if the Autobots are going up against Devastator and The Fallen. Still, like what Inflatable Dalek said, just because the toys can doesn't mean they will in the film.

Ah, thanks. Personally, I'd prefer if they didn't in the movie, simply because I like my Prime old school. It seems pretty implausible for a regular 'bot to become a combiner in the short time that's supposed to have passed between the movies too. I mean, that's got to be a hell of a thing to deal with, mentally.

(Yeah, I know, we're talking about giant robots here. But as far as suspension of disbelief goes, it's the little things you notice. To use an example I heard recently, you can be absolutely fine with a flying Ford Anglia pulling bars off a window to take a child to a school for wizards, but something in your brain rebels and goes "Hang on, surely the bumper would come off the car before the bars pulled out of the wall?")

what if The Fallen nearly destroys prime, and thus forcing him to get reformatted into a new body? One with the ability to merge with jetfire. Afterall it was said earlier that Optimus was gonna get a new body, and a new transformation.

I saw a link like a week ago, and that is what it said. along with confirmation about devastator, ravage (with a raw beast mode), megatron's leaked pictures and jetfire being an autobot that merges with optimus. I guess it was removed.

i mean prime combining? i was ok with it when it was magnus in RID, but this is in the hand of bay who is giving us ice cream trucks, and who gave us a crack team of code breakers and S7... that alone shortens the movie by, what an hour?? an hour of uneccessary story.. and then there's the whole miss named fiasco.. and bascially just threw names around to whatever alt mode they wanted to
