Universe Smokescreen and more confirmed for 2009

By the Transformers Collectors' Club.

People say he's either a straight redeco of Silverstreak or Prowl (I'm leaning towards the former).

No photos here at the request of the Collectors' Club.

Other toys confirmed (but nort shown, they will be in the next issue of the Collectors' Club magazine) are Robot Heroes Prowl and Laserbeak (previously listed in Wal*Mart's computers), 25th Anniversary Dinobot (presumably a new mold, also listed in Wal*Mart's computers) and 25th Annivesary Armada Hot Shot (a new mold, shown during the BotCon slide show).

Smokescreen? Really? Somehow I'm not surprised...

Maybe next they will redeco the Sunstreaker mold as 'Red Alert' and 'Clampdown'.

What is Robot Heroes Laserbeak, Nevermore?

Only interested in Dinobot and Hotshot...

Robot Heroes are the little cutesy PVC 2-packs.

Forgot totally.

Thanks Nevermore!

Hmmm . . . wondering about 25th Dinobot and Hot Shot. I might be interested if they're in the deluxe class. If I grab Silverstreak then I might as well snag Smokescreen to complete the Datsuns.

Is Smokescreen going to be a Collector's Club exclusive? Or is it going to be a mass retail release?

Probably mass release. The two sets that the collector's club were putting out for the year were Nightbeat and the Seacons. Heh. That sounds like a band name.

I totally shouldn't have removed the disclaimer.

Smokescreen, Hot Shot and Dinobot are in the second "2009" WAVE of Universe Deluxes. Waves don't include exclusive unless it's an entire exclusive wave. :)

Sweet. Might just have to get Smokescreen as I'm only so-so on the Silverstreak repaint. I have Prowl already and I really like that mold.

'Sideswipe', actually, for Red Alert. This has been passively mentioned more than once, but not as an official statement. (They did renew the name, so I would expect it around the same time as Smokescreen).

They "renewed" it? Hasbro registered the name back in 2003, and the last time they used it was just a few months ago, for the Legends of Cybertron Hot Shot redeco.

The cover is now up on the public Collectors' Club main page.

Shown are Smokescreen's vehicle mode, Robot Heroes RID Optimus Prime and Megatron, Legends Cosmos, and Mighty Muggs Soundwave.

I like Smokescreen, and want to see Hot Shot and Dinobot.

Maybe the fact that we have 2 G1 figures and 2 BW figures for the 25th Anniversary means we might see another Armada figure? If so, I'm hoping for Starscream.

I'm definitely picking up Smokescreen now that I see him. The mold is awesome, and the paint apps in vehicle mode look stellar. Can't wait to see robot mode... :D

The robot mode's shocking (I have AWESOME INSIDE SOURCES). The stripes don't work with the mould - they don't really work with the less complicated Prowl either, adding a third colour to the mix really doesn't help though.

I will buy a brand new mould Dinobot so hard.

I have no sources. I patiently/excitedly wait until they're released. :swirly:

That is an understatement to be sure. More like every primary color in the rainbow is being used with plentiful stripes.

Regardless of multiple colours being used, the alt mode on Smokescreen does look great, and I will pick him up for that and nostalgia (he was my first Autobot car), unless his robot mode is absolutely God-awful.

:)

Cosmos just looks great in focus! I'm very happy with the new line of 'Minibots'!
