Maybe. I stopped paying attention when I realized that the polls had silly shit like Street Fighter which beat out legit GI Joe sub-teams like Python Patrol, Tiger Force etc.

Skipped the IDW panel to see the MOTU Classics panel, which turned out to be waaaaay more exciting than the Hasbro Transformers panel. It was better not because of the content, but because the MOTU fans were excited about the new stuff instead of just bitching and moaning like too many of the TF fans in the Hasbro panel.

The lines for the Hasbro exclusives were insane on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wed. they had to shut down the line because there were too many people in line and every day after that you had to line up before the convention started to get a ticket to stand in line during a timeslot later that day. My wife did that for me while I was trying to get a King Grayskull, but I was able to pick up a second Nemesis Prime to open on Saturday when there was hardly anyone in line in the afternoon.

If Hasbro are celebrating all 25 years of the line by remaking various characters, what are our chances of getting a Classics 2 pretender - perhaps Bludgeon or Carnivac? Or how about a Beast Machines character?

Cyclonus and Hound look great, and I find it nuts to think they're doing a Ravage cassette made backwards-compatible with a 25 year old toy.

There's a BM Cheetor and Tankor as part of the Robot Heroes range.

Well, it looks like we're getting both Bludgeon and Thunderwing, if the trademark spots are anything to go by. Now, in what capacity we're getting them is anyone's guess.

Had there been any indication to the -number- of these 25th Anniversary presents? Because I want to hold out hope that there will be a Sky-Byte. Can I do that? Or will Hot Shot be the last of em?

I don't know how people can complain about Uni.Hound and Cyclonus. The pics look fantastic.

Also, when I first saw Cyclonus, I almost wet myself. Maybe because I always a toy for the bastard, but never got one.

Yeah. Dude, SDCC was two weeks ago. There's no way we'd have missed those toys since then. ;)

Old by now, but a fair summary (also some stuff on the Joes title) --

YES! Larry Hama is doing the IDW Joe comic! :) :) :) Relaunch is probably a good idea, rather than continuing the original continuity, which started with Marvel and which Devil's Due then more or less continued, I think - at least until adding another title. So, it's probably a bit too long and convoluted at this point - besides, how long will Snake Eyes, Stalker, and others as Vietnam vets still be believeable?;) (Though - will this be a contemporary series, or could the new series be set back in the 80's for its launch?) I certainly trust Hama to relaunch these characters, so it looks like IDW's getting yet another of their titles added to my pull list.

Thanks muchly for the link, Denyer! (And you're back? It's not even September! )

At this rate, it will be by the time I've dug out my inbox...

I'll certainly be picking up the preview to see what Hama's got in store. Having read a fair chunk of the original Marvel run, I found Joes descended into toy-related silliness in places so I'm quite keen on the idea of a fresh start with the original creator at the helm.
