In short: IDW have the Joes license, as has been suggested by people in the know for a good few months.

Was it Image that had the license to GIJoe before? I was collecting the on-going for a bit, but gave up on it a little over a year ago. I'd be willing to give them another try if they re-booted under IDW though.

This will definately open the door for more TF/GIJoe crossovers, which aren't bad as long as they are out of continuity.

He's only been in one Transformers story though, and it rocked, Battle Beasts as the power behind Unicron.

Am I reading that right that GI Joe is getting an ongoing comic and decent delux reprints of the original? And when was their TF title a best seller?

[Assuming you meant to say "I haven't read"] The last couple of Devil's Due ones are silly fun, Ancient Relics (which ID should reprint post haste) is great, the rest give cancer to puppies.

The pre-G2 stuff's alright.

Ideally, the two franchises belong nowhere near each other. This isn't the Marvel universe. We need a crossover as much as we need Drag Strip going head-to-head with Speed Racer.

OH MAN THAT WOULD ROCK. No, wait...

Yes, Ancient Relics is awesome - a genuinely good story, with a nice plot, some of Geoff's best work, mid-run Grimlock managing to be both a dick and yet alright at the same time (through the magic of characterisation), Blades is on absolute top form throughout (and I love Blades), and there're some really fun gimmicky narratives in there. Plus Action Force really aren't bad at all. Slight downfall - total head**** over Centurion (does Wheeljack just scoop out Morris' corpse and install sentience, or what?).

The G2 issues aren't bad, either, what with Cobra Commander being on amazing drugs, and Optimus Prime sending seven Autobots to their deaths out of sheer nonchalance.

I quite like the DW one as well... The art I really liked, as well as the broad idea - especially the way it avoided fanwank. The script was not so good.

The Devil's Due stuff has been undiluted shit - but as said, as long as it's out of continuity it does little harm. It's not like many people seem to feel obliged to buy them, either.

I still like to think Swoop was a complete bastard and never told anyone about Morris, so Wheeljack just rebuilt it as a big dumb robot with loyalty to Grimlock.

I hope they can either countinue where Devils Due left off or at least reprint the TPBs. Besides transformers, the Joes has been the only other comic i have been buying when issues come out. I have two of the ornigal TPBS, and two of DD's TPBs. I also have every single issule of DD last series of Joes.
