Fantofan.jp has posted pre-orders for three newly announced Transformers Henkei figures. All three are of upcoming Transformers Universe releases, which will be "USA Edition" releases in Japan. These Henkei releases will feature more cartoon accurate coloring on the figures than the Universe versions, but the figures will come in the original Universe packaging. Powerglide (in red), Silverbolt, and Onslaught will all be available in October.

I really don't see much difference with Silverbolt...

Well, I suppose it's hardly a suprise that Henkei Powerglide is going be re-coloured red. It definitely makes it more likely I will pick him up.

I actually prefer the blue S.W.A.T. Universe colours on Onslaught rather than the more G1 flavoured Henkei version though.

When I first saw Powerglide I thought he shoulda been red, but seeing the white and red ones side by side I think Hasbro got that one right,

Also, am I the only one who thinks Silverbolt looks terrible?

I'm not sure I like any of the G1 colors on the Henkei figures with this batch. I think I'll stick with the Hasbro versions. And I agree with another tf fan that Silverbolt looks pretty bad.

He looks terrible for the same reason I think G1 Silverbolt looks terrible: Freaking Long Legs. At least G1 Silverbolt had a reason for it as it had to combine with the others, but this one makes me think it was done for teh lulz.

Perhaps a combining figure on down the line though? I am still hoping that a gestalt team is going to be in the works..... If the designing team doesn't have that in the works, seems to be a waste to get the leaders of the teams w/o the combining-fun-ness. :(

Springer I think it was already announced that Onslaught would not be a combiner, and at Botcon they hinted that gestalts aren't part of the future.

Sorry, I would love to have grand sized Bruticus.

Kitbashing is your friend. I'm already thinking maybe a Universe Galvatron to Brawl and getting another Movie Landmine for Swindle.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about combiners, though, if Hasbro's doing the lead on a line. Aaron Archer is on record as hating combiners in any form - and will flat out refuse to do them.

That said, I still think that Silverbolt and Onslaught would have been better served with a slight tweak of the Energon combiners, though. It was good enough for Dev...

The back of his jet mode looks different, but not much else that i can see.

Me like both Powerglide. Henkei Onslaught looks like he got Leader Brawl's paint scheme.

White instead of light gray, and gold highlights instead of black in some places.

I think I shall pick up Henkei Powerglide. I don't need a Jetfire lookalike, and the red version will stand nicely alongside the G1 Minibot! (Both versions look nice though.)

Silverbolt is as bad as I expected him to be from the previous photos...

Onslaught looks better in Hasbro's colours, but either way he's 'meh'.

I think i likie Hasbro's better. Is it me or does the Henkei Silverbolt have a tad brighter red compared to the Universe one.

My sentiments exactly. Don't care about the other two one way or the other. I imagine the only Universe figures I'll purchase will most likely be Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Henkei Powerglide.

Not sure if I ever reported these here:
Some stock photos of Henkei "USA Edition" Onslaught, Powerglide and Silverbolt.

Now those pictures better show the differences between Hasbro's and the "USA Editions" of Onslaught.
