Someone over at the ACToys.net forum has posted the first image of Animated Grimlock in color. He is shown with his sword but no robot mode images as of yet. Current release dates for this figure are still unknown. Image mirrored below for ease,

Looking mighty sweet, I'm gonna have to pick that up. I just wonder thow, if they will make the dino bots into leader class figures, cuz you can cleary see in the show they are bigger then all the autobots except for bulk head, and he even looks small next to them.

Pretty funky, though I'm happy with the original and the Classics one...

Denyer, if classics and animated grimmy had come out at the same time which would you have bought?

i wish classics and g1 had looked that good..... I like the sword too! I might just transplant that and use it on my own grimmy Alt. That sword in particular is puny....

More images have surfaced of this figure, with a robot mode picture as well, even though it appears mis-transformed  Images are mirrored below.

I like the under bite. It seems to fit him pretty well.

Selling on Ebay.

[live auction link removed, unless you can given some indication this hasn't been stolen from a Chinese factory]

We haven't seen a final transformed shot for the animated version yet, so the jury's still out. I'd lean toward the Classics one as the alt-mode is less cartoony... even if I don't like the robot mode "feet".

I might get this one for the robot mode (unless that's definitely the only way the arms/hands can be posed...) Both new ones are better than the Energon version, the Pretender inner-robot, etc.

This guy is looking real sweet, and the fact he is a voyager figure and not a deluxe is great to. I am surely picking him up. The one thing I am starting to dislike thow, is all these pictures of him popping up online and they dont have his arms right in robot mode. The back part of the arms, is suppose to be pushed up into the grey part(the upper arm, or the thigh when he is robot mode) and it makes him look like he has proper elbows. These pictures might make some people pass on him, cuz of the messed up transformation they have them in, cuz the arms in there look terrible.

Also, he only comes with 1 sword, in those pictures they where just showing that he can hold his sword in both hands, even thow the flame gimmick doesnt work in the left hand.

He looks really nice, but I don't want to grab too many more tfs (especially ones larger than deluxe), but he looks really nice . . .

We'll see. I'll prolly impulse buy him if I see him in stores.

In-packaging --

Unless the arms retract further in, they still look pretty crap.

The arms retract a whole lot more, everyone knows hasbro has a problem with having a figure mistransformed on the packages. We dont need to get into the discussion on here. But if you want to see more on this figure, someone has did a review on youtube for him, just do a search for the character, and it should come up. He looks great, a must have.

Ouch, that's awful... any reason the black parts couldn't retract into either the upper or lower arm? Beyond the usual HasTak "if it looks alright from the front, it's good enough to release" philosophy?
