"Shopping Wheelie: All the Wheelie you need"

Post by zigzagger »

To commemorate this special occasion, IDW is now offering Wheelie themed apparel and accessories. Sportswear, baseball caps, CDs, t-shirts (oddly nothing in small :() and so forth.

How.....quaint.

Why wasn't Kup marketed this way when he got a Spotlight :(

Surely only being a day or so behind the expected date is pretty good for IDW?

Hmm. Not really very funny, all things considered. Though I've got to say, I do think that Wheelie sports outfit looks pretty awesome, or at least a little like the human transformer concepts that girl on deviantart produces every once in a while.

This all seems like the effort of a rogue faction within IDW who want to sink any taste for a Wheelie Spotlight before it hit the shelves...

Re -reading his Tech Spec, raises some questions.

Who were these colonists? Where did they crash ? When ?
I'm suprised I've never seen any fan-fiction based around it.

Hmm, true and this all certainly plays off Wheelie's novelty value. I suppose it is a shame there is so little faith in the little guy. But, I do actually have high hopes for this one.

And now that I am thinking about it, IDW did do the same for Spotlight:Kup as well. Got a myspace page anyway.

I think it's all Klaus' doing, actually... something different to get people to notice the book.

Between this, and Simon Furman's script wrap post, it seems like he is really invested in this story. That gets my curiosity up even more than the joke stuff.

Boo!

Hiss!

Furmo really needs to start putting "full" in front of his "debuts."

[/wants a good canonical reason for the animation model rather than the toy, as seen in Sixshot] Grrr.

I must admit, the idea of the camera-cons possibly losing one of their number seems like quite a nice idea to play around with. I really don't care Who or What Varta is, though. Really.

I wonder if this means that Wheelie has crash-landed on Earth, or just an "Earth-like" planet?
