Sludge is the one on the right.

I think.

No, he is. If that were Snarl he'd have the split tail visible off his shoulder.

Bugger, I'm overthinking this now.

No, middle bottom is definitely Snarl, which means Sludge is on the right.

That cover art looks awesome. I'm already using it as my new desktop wallpaper. I can't wait for this Spotlight. Should be great.

Nice sense of Grimlock's sheer size- But are those supposed to be glasses Bald Scientist Guy is holding? They look twice as wide as his head.

And am I the only one who's never been so keen on the teeth-on-face part of Grim's WW design?

You're probably right, but i'm entertaining myself with the idea that it's a long and strange shaped pipe...

Hate them, it looks like someone's welded a big bar across the front of his mouth to shut him up.

Other than that i'm quite looking forward to this one...

Or, more sinisterly, Grimlock is Zippy:

Umm, no, I don't see any reason to lock this.

At any rate, yeah, I am looking forward to this one. Originally I wasn't, just not as big on Grimz as I am towards other characters. But from what I gather, this could be a somewhat important story. It's a bit of a missing link.

Actually, I think the scientist is holding a cup of coffee.

My money is on it being Galactus and this issue leading into the second New Avengers crossover.
SPOILER! (select to read)
There's got to be some sort of cunning twist coming somewhere on the Scorponok thing, right?

Like the cunning twist with Dealer not being the traitor and all the non-toy characters not dying in Hot Rod Spotlight?

My only worry with this spotlight is that its going to feel slightly rushed. Judging by the first page, Grimlock is still inactive. Theres a lot of ground to cover if he is going to battle some decepticons. Also wondering have skywatch got the other dinobots? Looking back they only seem to have shown shockwave and grimlock. Wondering if they are even functioning. Might be an interesting angle for grimlock where his arrogance and thirst for revenge got his squad killed.

They've got the other Dinobots, they just haven't unearthed them completely yet. The reason Grimlock was selected was because he was closest to being fully uncovered.

On the final page of Escalation #5, we see Shockwave and parts of three Dinobots. One of whom is definitely Snarl.

Killed, notsomuch... but from the preview info, that seems to be the angle they're going for, yes.

5 page preview now up at Denton Tipton's blog.

I don't mind it being late or anything, if not for all the "two Spotlights in March!" promo stuff. :-/
