You know... It's bad when someone who neither owns nor has handled the thing firsthand, such as myself, can tell that the toy is both mistransformed in the legs and has its waist backwards.

I suppose the ultimate result of shoddy instructions are shoddy advertising pictures.

Actually, that's his "brute mode," apparently. The legs are turned around in the second pic. Aside from the legslooking backwards in that mode (as a result of being actually backwards), I actually like that mode better than his giant mode, especially the shovels for feet.

What's worse is if you look back at the toyfair pics, he's mistransformed on the display table (face obviously visible in alt mode).

I knew I recognized that guy

http://www.takaratoys.co.jp/galaxyforce ... /gc23.html

I asked who/what he was, as the site is Japanese. I'm glad to see that it's Metroplex.

On the Japanese subject, A friend of mine might move to Japan for a few years, so I asked if I could tag along. So turns out IF he moves with her out there, I could come with and get a job. Her parents live downtown Tokyo (then again, what part of Tokyo isn't downtown lol)

That's not Leader-1. It's not even the same mold.

The Japanese name for that toy is Megalo Convoy.

You could have looked up the name here.

A couple of quick questions:
1) What's his Minicon's english name?
2) Does his "Brute Mode" ever appear in the series?

According to this, it's Drillbit (GF Horri-Bull). Mini-con partners are listed with the main Transformer.

Well, I stand corrected. Now he still looks like a retooled version of Leader 1.

Not impressed with the alt mode. It looks like a robot on its hands and knees, rather than any sort of construction vehicle. Robot mode is very nice though.

Again, Giant planet residents DON'T look like real vehicles, they serve a purpose, that's all.

I rather like Metroplex personally.

Wow, the alt. mode is just...

Seriously, does anyone else think the figure looks like it's either about to take it in the rear or praying to Mecca?

I couldn't make out the Japanese Characters to figure out the name Megalo Convoy, though I did see it on the site, I thought it was the name given to OP when he had Metroplex attached on him. Either way, I can't wait till this crap region of Canada starts getting newer Transformers, I still haven't seen Crosswise, CD Scattorshot or Hot Shot, Scrapmetal, worst of all is no Soundwave. There's more but it's torture to name them all...

I'm pretty sure limbs don't bend that way even when limboing.

Understood, but if you're a tall robot with a crane like arm, what's the purpose of squatting down for an alt mode? Whether judging form or function, Metroplex's alt mode just looks hokey (IMO, of course).

Very well put. That's pretty much my opinion too.

I'm fully aware that it's not meant to look like an earth vehicle, but it should still look good, which this one doesn't.
