Yeah yeah... my mistake. :P
For some reason, I got locked on the Falcon and didn't catch the bit about the Alternator. IT was just so.. so... terrible!
Eh, I would seriously look to the names that Hasbro's either secured or have been trying to secure in the past couple of years. G1 references, most particularly, but not neccessarily.

Actually, it kinda suits Rumble, when you consider it, though he doesn't look quite right for an Alternator in that pic for some reason. I'm going to wait for a proto or something to make my mind up, though.. but, since he's an alt, I'll get him. :P

It suits the character, but as you said, it doesn't look good as an Alternators figure. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt because that's just concept art, but having the whole front end of the car as one of the forearms is not my idea of aesthetically pleasing.
One thing this toy does have is an obvious repaint- Blue. But also called Rumble to keep everybody happy. Bar those crazy Frenzy fans, but no one should listen to them anyway.
I take back my earlier statement that I would buy the combiner, whatever it looked like, because that THING looks awful! Since when does Chewie have engines on his head?
Originally posted by Brimstone Where did they claim that they were doing this the Jaguar to appease upset UK fans or that they chose the Jaguar because it's "British"?
I didn't see that in the Q&A at all...just speculation here.
who says they did?
Hasbro obviously has a good deal going with Ford (Mustang, GT, RX-8). I doubt it goes any deeper than that. (unless I missed something somewhere)
uhm, the RX-8 is a mazda (or did i miss something?).
Is Jaguar even a remotely desirable brand now? That's surprising, considering Ford's raped the **** out of it, what with turning out models as attractive as their own, and crippling the F1 operation...

Mazda, like Jaguar, is owned by Ford Motor Company.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I haven't really seen that many new ones. For as long as I can remember my father wanted a Jaguar (I expected him to get one at the start of his inevitable mid-life crisis). But, he hasn't really spoken much about them since Ford bought them. <shrugs>
But, to be fair...I do like the look of the Ford GT and the Mustang (these days).
