They're toys for people who don't like toys but want a cheap way of showing hey, they're zany and different because they've got a figure of Jack Sparrow or Doctor Who or Deadpool or Harley Quinn sat on a shelf next to a Stranger Things box set. You can buy little plastic sleeves for the boxes, for *...

My reading of Prime and to the lesser extent the Autobots is, and to the best of my recollection has been since '07, that they're losing or have lost the war - even in ROTF and DOTM Earth is a defensive base they successfully depend, and on both occasions the Decepticons summon armies effectively at...

Is Infinity War the one with the terrible eeevil clones? Yup, and the car crash hilarity of Jim ****ing Starlin the grand cosmic twat trying to write funny dialogue for Strong Guy. The crowning glory being that Infinity War the film seems to be more closely based on Infinity Gauntlet the comic than...

The Machine Man series was from Machine Man Vol. 2. It was recently reprinted as part of the Iron Man 2020 trade, no idea how Comixology works. The Rocket Racoon one's probably back in print now he's part of Guardians of the Bantz too. I mean he has been for ages but we've at peak selling unrelated ...

I think that's going to be the problem, though - between Marvel, Star Wars and DC a lot of the competent but not too big directors have been and will be quite tied up and not wanting to work on another franchise when they aren't. Blockbusters are a 2-year process now. There's probably mileage in doi...

I think you've hit on something there; basically in terms of a purely cinematic endeavour the films peak early. TF1 is about holy **** actual cars turning into actual ****ing real looking robots and fighting. You can maybe get one sequel out of not having to introduce them and having bigger fights w...

I'd say film-by-film those are a fair analysis from both, though I think 1 takes far, far too long to get going. Really the first three needed a good edit and would be passable; mileage varies as to how much you can ignore the bad bits or let them spoil things I suppose. 4 felt like it made far too ...

Seriously good read Denyer put my way - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwcKvxy ... RZSXc/edit
Little bit mad in places but some serious food for thought.

Is there an explanation how Bumblebee is blown apart and magically pulls himself together? Is there even any sort of explanation for why anyone thought that was a good idea? Visually it looks naff and surely the film is certificated too high to make anyone fall for it even for a second? I... can't ...

(plus Age of Extinction, which I'm not sure I can stand to re-watch) Skip to the scene where they find Optimus in that cinema, press eject when he finishes speaking at Monument Valley, perfect edit. Hound killing hundreds of Decepticons in Hong Kong is a top action scene but not worth accidentally ...

Was Spider-Man: Homecoming a bit of a flop?
No, bear with, I'm fully aware it took $800m +. But am I the only one who thinks Marvel were hoping for more, like the billion plus Iron Man 3 and the Avengers films took for the triumphant return of their marquee character? After all that promotion and fanfare? Is it just that I'm moving in older c...

The effort that must have taken is insane Type it all out starting a new line at a time then delete the spaces inbetween; it's much easier to do it that way than to get it to flow in a layout Mona Simpson style because you can vary all the sentence lengths so they're natural. My posts and sites are...

Yeah, some of the more rational theorising seems to be the same area that tripped Brendan up back in the day - that by overtly asking for money on a highly visible platform they're effectively selling under the trademarks in a way that could give precedence to less altruistic efforts. Whereas IIRC t...
