Couldn't agree more with your assessments of the first 3. Active Time Battle sticks around through most of the series from then on. FFVII has a couple of fights which go on for a good half hour, too. It depends on individual situations, and isn't as simple as people being picky. Easy to talk about your couple of jobs plus uni as a single person who only has responsibility to yourself, but if you have dependants there aren't many jobs which are open in non-specific fields that would support them ...

People have different ways of using it. It can be a wonderful tool at times. When we had the big earthquake/tsunami over here, communication was sketchy, but one message on facebook and family and friends knew I was ok.

I only played Tactics advanced (Advanced Tictacs?) on the GBA, but I really enjoyed that.
