Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Neat. When cured, is the paint resistant to friction? If so, what brand? I could do with touching up Emirate Xaaron a bit. Although he is meant to look a bit decrepit. Don't really tend to touch the figures I've painted much (unflocked Moss Man out of Beast Man is more of a placeholder statue, for i...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Mmm. I think painting the head is a good call. And probably going to display with the Legends class ones in insect modes, rather than ever bother to transform them. Despite liking the original toys (and the AM) could never really get past Bombshell being overpowered, similar to other unbalanced 80s ...

It's sort of possible to get the deluxe class rock jeep to look more like just a rock.

But not sure if there's any way to conceal the tyres in robot mode.

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
You could sandpaper down the bomb shafts, or if they're much thicker cut off the conical tips then drill into the back slightly and replace the shafts with superglued-in short sections of something else such as rigid wire or cut off nails. (Wouldn't feel right just gluing the tips to original launch...

They might accomplish that, they seem to have already jumped to the type of weapons that they're obliged to deny. https://twitter.com/amnesty/status/1712783307996377139 https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/human-rights-watch-says-israel-used-white-phosphorous-gaza-lebanon-2023-10-12/ edit: And ...

Re: Living in interesting times
I'd have not said option 2, at least not as a main factor. As a recruitment push it involves sacrificing a lot of materiel and fighters, against an opponent that's prepared to let hospitals/vulnerable fail and die and to reduce the entire area to dirt whilst the world watches, and even if you did in...

Mostly because they skipped the bits about the allied powers in C20th wars being filthy terrorists making use of ABC weapons and attacking civilians. These tend to be the generation that talks like they fought in those wars despite being born too late to have.

Re: Anyone else thoroughly enjoying the Twitter dumpster fire?
Meta's also been warned, but a possible endgame here is that Musk gets fined, can't/doesn't pay it, and Twitter gets blocked in European countries. And the lid comes off the can of worms on Russian, Chinese, etc, disinformation. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/10/tech/x-europe-israel-misinformation/...

Re: Living in interesting times
Mmm. Genocide would be more accurate -- hundreds of thousands of people crammed into a few square miles of land being starved, and a much larger number of civilians on both "sides" put at risk by war criminals in Hamas and war criminals in a far right Israeli govt. Going from TFW info --> ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Neat design. Surprised we've never gotten Unicron acolytes although I suppose it'd be possible to cast the Cybertron deluxe head. Although not quite as noticeable in-hand, in various poses the arms on Bunter Prime feel like they belong on Tentakil and the legs like they're a kind of a Stilt-Man cosp...

Anything in particular or just the corrosive never-ending river of shit that political figures seem to be relying on to move from crisis to crisis fast enough to not be dissolved?

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
This is also a "remembering old toys" post that I think shows how far things have declined since Siege Megatron was designed. I know that Legacy G2 Laser Optimus Prime has the basic trailer, but there's no way this is a Leader class figure. At half price including shipping it's not too muc...

Re: Skybound Transformers comics
Read #1. It's competent. There's not a great deal in the dialogue to connect with previous characterisations, but there is actually some dialogue rather than being all fight or all splash pages (although these are fairly well used). They seem to be making a show of lethality in the combat, but who k...

Only got the first Sideswipe personally... ended up with Slamdance separately from the G2 Sideswipe. Although if I can get one separately or the pack cheaply I'd quite like the Kingdom one that was repacked with the eagle to repaint closer to ActionMaster Sideswipe colours. edit: https://tfarchive.c...

Re: Latest DVD Purchases
Plus it's nice to keep discs around as backups (probably knocking on for a thousand in a handful of the largest size disc wallets that are available, which is another reason I can't be bothered to systematically rip them) but a lot of old TV shows and cartoons are past any great monetisation potenti...

Re: Latest DVD Purchases
Samba or FTP is as convenient, if doing files. Android VLC can play ISOs (or a device symlinked as one). Having said ISO, Handbrake on Very Fast 480p preset seems to be as quick as just ripping and on very average hardware it's chugged through a 3hr gig recording. I'm only going to do a few discs at...

Re: Latest DVD Purchases
Quite a few recently. The D&D movie, first season of SNW, first couple of seasons of ALF, an old LTJ gigs compilation, etc. If not just finding elsewhere will probably be going with the option of ripping ISOs and playing them from main PC rather than what I'd hoped to do with a laptop and stream...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Weirdly, Minerva's plentiful over here at less than initial price (not really clearanced but online stores clearly overstocked and have moved on to trying to sell other things). The new Bombshock wouldn't make a bad Bludgeon alt mode -- better fit than the original MM -- but I'm probably just going ...
