These problems that come up are all definitely problems - the gung-ho security guards I can just about buy now that I know that it's Strafe From Kimia heading them up combined with Denyer's suggestion of Megatron-level firepower. It is a case of the tail wagging the dog, plotwise, though. Same thing...

Yup, solid stuff. I'll say more later but for now: Getaway doesn't need to work out creepy sex pest plans to manoeuvre someone into attacking Megatron, it'd be a Murder on the Orient Express thing with at least a dozen lined up to say it was an "Accident". Especially as it's the second iss...

with the later being enough to raise the near-dead (cheesy, but it worked) As fuel to your Kup-is-Prowl theory, looks to me like Springer was not in a coma but was deliberately put on ice. He wakes up at the sound of the voice of the guy who can open Prowl's doors at a touch? The guy whose body Pro...

IMO, the Grimlock thing is his own reminder for vengeance. The Grand Architect or his troops captured him and seriously damaged him. Maybe his only solid mempry of who did it is that symbol, hence the three words of Prepare, Confront and repel. Just how I saw it anyway. . That's a good spin on it -...

Red Alert was seeing him for something like 300 years wasn't he? He's barely even gotten started with failing to treat Max! Transformers do seem to have a strange attitude to guns. Guns aren't particularly lethal and they tend to be welded to their bodies (or ARE their bodies). It's fairly rare to e...

And what about Roadbuster and what he did to poor Radar? That easily puts him on a par with the DJD, and this after his tender treatment of Springer in a coma ( I know I know, its serious ). Yeah man, that was really nasty. The idea of him being jazzed on robo-meth at the time was also pretty surpr...

More Than Meets the Eye #46

Kicking this off to say it was a fantastic issue. Nice and dense, builds Max up as a credible foe, gives the Scavengers a greater and more interesting purpose, introduces us to some new horrors and even lets the penny drop on the Big Plot - looks like Rodimus' new map is going to lead the Lost Light...

Here's to a third one! Redemption comes after a punishment but what comes after a redemption? Atonement? Rehabilitation? Going on a no-fly list? The spark-destroying bit was a flashback to the war - note Grimlock in the background. Bludgeon executes Barricade and then he chucks Strafe into the monst...

Yes, it seems pretty straightforward to me - the 'Primus hand' field has fired back up again. We saw the hot spots starting again way back in that Wheeljack issue of RID, we just didn't know what we were looking at then.

Life is so much easier if you stop worrying about power levels and just go with the flow, man. The active hot spot is a huge deal - especially in light of the Council of Worlds opening up the way for new characters. We can now introduce characters from a) the population of NAILs, b) the colonies c) ...

Redemption

Dinobots: Fury Road came out today. It's great fun. It builds on Punishment in a logical way, does some fine work on Slag/Slug's character though does leave the mystic side of him by the wayside. The stakes are low but interesting, the new characters are worthwhile and it does a good job of mapping ...

Transformers #46

Hey, the new issue is out. Quick thoughts: Sara P-D does us a blinding service. Much much better than Combiner Hunters. A great advert for Till All Are One. I quite like the issue of Prime's 'faith.' Him coming to terms with being a godking is really interesting, especially from a pessimistic agnost...

I'm quite interested in how the Primal Vanguard functioned, as a sort of proto-Autobots. Lots left to explore!
I wonder if we'll have Dominus Ambus be part of the cast eventually.

I listened to this last night. I really like your sunny sounding voice Terome! You and dalek make a good double act. Thanks, quake. There's more where that came from. The stuff I found interesting was the discussion around the South African police "if they turn up, you're in for a very bad day...

I finally opened my care packages from one Rack n Ruin and one Brendocon 2.0. They contained a bunch of Voyagers: Hot Spot, Rhinox, Blitzwing and Sandstorm. Pretty chuffed with them all round. I can see why Blitzwing is so unpopular but I have a soft spot for 'Decepticon cannon fodder' and there's n...

"Buy the exciting stand up comedian Transformer" is certainly looking like a better sales pitch. I'm with RnR. That is an excellent pitch. I guess we'll see how high IDW will jump when it comes to Galvatron, Hardhead et al. I guess we know why Fort Max has popped over from Luna-1 now. Loo...

They knew what they were doing all along! There was a neat flashback to Galvatron during his Conan days when he (single-handedly?) kills all the Headmasters because they offend his sensibilities. Then he tracks down their dad, Nexus Prime, blows him to bits and stashes his silly Enigma on Earth beca...

Aha! But the Enigma is already a Headmaster thingy. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Barber is clued into this stuff a year or so in advance. It must take a good while for a toy to go from whiteboard to NYCC reveal.
