One thing that does annoy me is who is bankrolling the First Order? I think a better question is, how the hell was First Order even allowed to form? After so many years and so many deaths, how the hell did the new republic do such a piss-poor job at actually running things if they just let the Impe...

I do find it a tad hypocritical when somebody resurrects a heavily nostalgia-driven franchise - which you really only do because they're a safe bet, the interest is already there - and then say "oh, it's not for you" when people don't like it. You're dismissing the very same people whose i...

Star Wars! On Laserdisc ! I didn't actually buy my LD player to watch actual movies on, much less ones in CAV format, but if I knew things would come to this, I would've invested in a two-side player. I certainly didn't expect to buy SW this way, I was content on settling on the limited edition DVD...

Actually, after giving it some thought, here's my verdict: if you want something that feels like TOS/TNG/VOY/ENT Star Trek, and you don't feel like paying CBS, watch The Orville . Despite what the critics think, I actually like the show and think it's pretty good. A friend of mine who hates Star Tr...

Ultimately what annoys me the most about the casting decision is that it is almost entirely political - and what about the next Doctor? They can't cast a man in the role again without also making it political.

They've just opened a whole new can of worms that didn't need to be opened.

Watched Adieu Galaxy Express 999, the 1981 sequel to the movie that in turn was an adaptation of the manga. The original movie is one of those few instances where I'd easily recommend the much shorter and compressed story presented by the film rather than the TV series, because the latter's highly e...

Does anybody ever pay taxes on second hand items? I mean, the tax has technically already been paid, when it was bought new. Paying it every time it changes hands would be ridicilous.

Oh I saw a bit of that! I didn't stick around for long though since they were showing Rescue and I got that one on disc. I did stick around long enough though to notice that the early episodes seemed to rely a lot on on-set audio, with various dull sounding clunks and thuds making it pretty obvious ...
