Lost Light #22

Lorks-a-Lordy this is like watching the final few hundred metres of a race. Everything is happening in double-quick time, seemingly shocking stuff bounds onto the panel, and is resolved a few panels on. Most important of all, why aren’t BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty talking about ...

Wow, what a superb selection of albums! Have you heard any of Gary Numan’s most recent stuff, and how do you think it compares to Replicas? Again, all these bands in your most recent post; are they a mix of vinyl, CD, cassette? For my part I’m sticking to CD. I’ve been to vinyl shops and heard all t...

Lost Light #21

Blimey, four issues to go. This one is the start of the final arc, I think, and everything is moving at a lightning pace and I don't like it. No spoilers... but there's things happening in this issue that would have been spread over two or three issues back when MTMTE was new. I wish the writer had ...

I played Earth Wars for a couple of months on the phone. It was fun watching all your little authentic Transformers running around their base. After a while though the game became an endless, pointless grind-fest. So cheap, so I gave up. It wasn't actually any fun. And they had stupid names for some...

I don't think its that unrealistic to expect a hint of realism. Batman is the millionaire philanthropist. Tony Stark is the millionaire hotshot who pays for everything from his inventions and ballistics. The Jedi were seemingly loaded when Master Sipher Diaz paid for the massive clone army on Camino...

One thing that does annoy me is who is bankrolling the First Order? When Starkiller base got blown up in Episode VII which was many, many times bigger than the Death Star; doesn't that potentially mean a huge number of families under First Order employ were killed. Or at least without their evil Hus...

I just saw this for the first time. I reckon the bit about Rey's parents is a fake-out and they really are key people, or atlas Rey's origin is key... like she's the first cloned Jedi. I loved that it started with a big, fat space battle. That always gives me such a buzz, like when I saw Episode III...

It feels like its wrapping around to events in Last Stand of the Wreckers, are the Lost Lighters inside Aequitas under Ten's direction who may have been carrying out a command from Tyrest or Tyrest's puppermaster (I'm not bright enough to have thought this, I read the theory somewhere else), and wil...

Oddball disco, that is EXACTLY the right term! I’d apply that to 90’s Erasure stuff, too (love their early work right up to about 1990).

OooooooooOOoooooOooooo, sometiiiiiiimes!

Ooh, ComiXology are doing some good deals on Transformers comics at the moment. I got the Dinobot trilogy (Punishment, something something and Redemption) for £2.99. It’s the stories all drawn by Livio Rimondelli, so as long as you don’t mind your TF’s all Rothko’d up with tiny eyes & funky prop...

Lost Light #17

Just picked this up hot off the press. I didn’t expect ANY of that to happen. I don’t want to spoil the crap out of it because its only the first day on sale, so I’ll just say I kinda miss Megatron. ... this isn’t a spoiler because it happened last issue; but a robot has to be happy in order for the...

The Beatles ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ (1967) This sucks. I had a music teacher in school who insisted on teaching us music via The Beatles. Sounds brilliant, right? All it did was give me an unhealthy association/hatred for them. Then I watched Backbeat, then I heard some of their ear...

Interesting. To me it feels like they’re aimed directly at us (which I know is nuts, as you point out we’re not the target market if they want to make money. But it still feels like (and I’m pointing directly at MTMTE/Lost Light) that its for us the fans that have been following Transformers since t...

It annoys me that all I can see are a bunch of characters who are either too heroic, or too dark. There was a few hints of interesting things in RID; I liked the fact that Needlenose and Horri-bull were in a relationship, that Tracks and Needlenose were brothers, Dirge getting beaten all the time......

Yeah, I felt much the same. Humble Bundle were giving away digital TPB's of RID a while ago (one of those 'pay what you want' deals). It was all a bit too erstwhile and po-faced for me. I know that sounds a bit stupid after reading years of Marvel G1 and G2, but I was more able to handle it back the...

I skipped all the Revolutionary’s issues except for MTMTE Revolutions. In that one the author felt the same as you and used it as a pisstake of everything that silly about desperate crossovers. I liked it a lot. :)

Who's that guy over there? Oh, its Another TF Fan. And here's Mr. Trent Reznor to sing you a Birthday song!
