I love the idea of using the 'Soviet propaganda' style for a Decepticons poster. I'm actually a little surprised it hadn't been done by a fan-artist yet. I like the way it looks, but I wish Nick Roche had reigned in the cartoony-ness just a bit on Megatron. It doesn't ruin the image, but it deflates...

:) Seconding the congratulations to you and your wife! Names? Heather Jennifer Rebecca To name a few... Do not use any of these names--Heather and Jennifer are eighties-tastic, and take it from me, she won't thank you for Rebecca. Otherwise, just stay away from yuppie names like Madison and Kaitlyn,...

In the novelisation she actually gives the dropped Ding Dong to the President. Does that count as treason? Ordinarily, yes. However, Ding Dongs belong to the class of foodstuffs that are already made of horrible things, so dropping them on the floor doesn't hurt, and may actually improve them. The ...

The soundtrack for Grosse Pointe Blank has some good, different '80's tunes; stuff from the Clash, Pete Townshend, a David Bowie/Queen duet, etc. Nothing too out there, but not the usual pop hits you'd associate with the decade.

I'm in the Perceptor/Chase/Horri-bull one [ link ]. I haven't had a chance to look at all the groups yet, but yours is one of my favorites so far--it's such an wildly different take on a cover idea. I know that the fights are what people find exciting, but it's awesome to see something that breaks ...

The Sari-key trick could get to be overused, but for now I think it's a fairly convenient way to get things going without needing to waste too much time on details. In some 5 or so episodes, we've already brought Megatron back to life, and created the Dinobots--the use of the key in doing both is ki...

It's probably not going to be easy to get 6th graders to think in depth about anything, but maybe you could have a project where groups of students have to pick different countries and do a presentation/report on some current issue or problem therein. Just something that will get them to look into a...

I really enjoyed this episode! The previous one's have been cute, but very obviously for kids. This one had a little more weight to it, and filled out Ratchet's character pretty nicely--I think he's my favorite character in this series. Plus, I actually liked the introduction of Arcee, and it was ni...

I think the increasing fundamentalism is more a reaction to the changing world at large. Society in the U.S. has actually become considerably more liberal over the last few decades, especially if you consider things like the end of segregation, the rise of concern for women's rights, and gay rights....

Another vote for the Clash, just for London Calling. Though, yeah, probably the Beatles or the Stones should win by reason of their influence, significance, blah blah blah.

All right, someone else who just saw this for the first time!Everyone I know is very "been there, done that" about the movie, and thus don't really want to talk it over. I overall liked it, though I don't know if I'd watch it again. The bureaucracy-out-of-control world was troubling and sc...
