Yeah, the only issue with that page was that it didn't match as well as the others did. Otherwise, I think you're spot on about the G1-esque feel that was captured there. It's a nicely done piece of work all on its own, and that's without mentioning that it tells a great part about this story in pa...

At first I thought the artist might be Boo Cook who does a lot of 2000AD strips, but the art style is more like Steve Roberts who did Bec & Cawl, although both artists are a lot better than this Transformers strip.

You're absolutely right - his dialogue tics would be different, but I just didn't think he came across as First Lieutenant material, eager to lead the charge.

((Spoilers)) Issue 6 - Hmmm, this doesn't feel much like a Jazz tale at all. I don't mind the fact Jazz doesn't sound like his on-screen movie incarnation (since it's one of the worst aspects of the movie), but he doesn't sound like any incarnation of Jazz either. Instead he comes across as "generic...

Sorry - I meant the design aesthetic favoured by the G1 / Unicron saga character models, i.e. the non-movie look traditionally used in toys/comics/animation since 1984. I like the movie designs, and I like the Energon / pre-movie designs, I just don't think they work together. Besides, there's plent...

I liked this story, since it seemed to do more - there were two plots intertwined, and while on their own they would be pretty weak, the combination at least made it feel more developed than the last piece. I'm growing tired of Furman's dialogue though - I'd love to see another writer have a go at t...

Just read #4 as well - looks pretty, lacks anything approaching a story. If Titan are worried about messing with post-movie continuity, why not pull a Marvel-UK and concentrate on characters released as toys but not featured in any media - Arcee, Longarm, Landmine, Dreadwing, Dropkick, Incinerator, ...

City of Fear terrified me as a kid Part 1 cliffhanger - zombie claws burst out of the ground to attack our heroes Part 3 cliffhanger - zombie Impactor Part 5 Trypticon! I'm pretty sure it was the combination of robot zombies and the hideous deaths of 'redshirt' Transformers in this arc that led my p...

That is a fairly bad comic by any stretch. I haven't read any of the prequels or the adaptation, but the standard set here is low. Three people came up with that story? There's no arc - no internal change for any of the characters. It's just a series of events that fill in chronology gaps (that have...

I'm surprised at the negative reactions - I thought the movie was surprisingly well written. I had really low expectations going in - I haven't enjoyed a Bay movie since The Rock, and none of the writers' previous efforts grabbed me. But I really thought they nailed the Amblin style 80's movie feel,...

The '4 million years' fact might seem ridiculous and lead to these insanely lengthy speculations and discussions, but without it you wouldn't have Beast Wars. For my money the two best theories why nothing happened in 4 million years are: a) Cartoon – everyone runs out of energy within a few years o...

I know I'm playing hard and fast with the established rules, but the whole 'Saturn sized' concept is preposterous. Besides the fact that Cybertron's cities are regularly drawn as visible from space, and the fact Unicron's footprint would be at least the size of the earth, there's no way it could geo...

Fair play, professorships to both of us - and this is a great discussion :) I see where you're coming from with the whole 'renewable energy / self sustaining Primus/core' angle, but I'm sticking to my guns too! I don't think Transformers could survive in a frozen atmosphere a) because they couldn't ...

;) This is getting pretty in depth - ok, to clarify, the atmosphere on Cybertron would freeze, not the planet itself. It could – as you suggest – have a warm core, but the surface would be covered with ice, preventing life from existing. If you're after a figure for distance from the star, then look...

:) He's a self replenshing natural resource in himself hence how he was able to create and sustain life in the firstplace, if he froze solid everytime he left a star's orbit.....well he'd just suck. Blasphemy! That's like saying every time Jazz drives off a cliff he should fly. Primus is mimicking a...

I think it's somewhere in City of Fear that Xarron mentions Megatron and Prime disappearing after a 100 years of war. I don't recall any mention of when Cybertron was knocked from it's orbit, but since Alpha Centauri is some 4.3 light years away, and it's unlikely Cybertron was moving at the speed o...

But if it's flying through our solar system then, where is it in 4 million years? OK, my rough memory of those early issues goes like this: 4 million years ago, war starts. Cybertron is knocked off its orbit around Alpha Centauri and after about 1000 years, finds itself heading toward the asteroid ...

No oxygen on Cybertron but every man and his dog survives there, the only people who ever get space suits are four kids and a teddy bear. So to argue a sun's presence solely on the absence of dead Neo Knights is flawed I think. I can accept powermasters etc surviving because of their exo-suits, but...

I posted this theory in another thread ( this one ), but it applies equally here: "4 million years ago, the effects of the civil war knock Cybertron out of its orbit and off into space. The further Cybertron travels from its sun (Alpha Centauri), the colder it will get until the atmosphere itself co...

Yes, downtime and stasis lock would be discounted, since much like Ripley in Aliens, Transformers don’t seem to age when in stasis. And as for how I make the maths work… Well, I said it was fanfiction, but here goes: You can make 200 years fit the comic continuity by adding a little physics to histo...
