CLUB AND CONVENTION TRANSFORMERS COMICS

Reunification, Part 5
Reviewed by Blackjack

Issue Review

I'm already dead. That's a sucky choice.
Optimus Prime is a grand villain, basically knocking about everybody else. It's a rather fun installment, and I'm rather happy that reunification, after all seemingly going to be another endless tirade of boring monologues like 'Crossing Over' and 'Revelations', lasts only for two or three pages. Another good this is getting rid of Alpha Trion, which is a rather brilliant move since he's starting to get boring. Primus is pretty sarcastic too, and it's implied that he pretty much doesn't give the Candy Cane Squad any choice whatsoever. To die or to be reborn... not the best installment, but after seeing how horrible club comics can be, this is pretty well done. Hopefully this would mean that we never see the half-developed bland non-character Candy Cane Squad, at least.

Notes

Warpath and Hound's deaths are not shown (they are just slammed onto each other), as do Sky Lynx and Nightscream's, but since Optimus Prime is staying behind to stay the job, it's rather safe to assume that the four of them would be killed. Warpath and Hound are in no shape to run anyway, and Nightscream's death would be shown in a future installment.

According to Primus, Shattered Glass Cybertron is 'farther away than most from the center, where all are one'. Whatever that means.

In case you're wondering, Heatwave can communicate with non-sentient machines, a power he uses quite often in the Shattered Glass text stories.

In the afterlife Skyfall is surrounded by the heads of Omega Prime, Sentinel Maximus and G1 Downshift. Presumably G1 Downshift is supposed to be Cybertron Downshift. If so, these three are the Autobots Skyfall is closest to during 'Balancing Act' and 'Revelations' before he met Landquake.

Who's Who

Shattered Glass Warpath uses the design of his Universe/Classics Legends class toy, coloured blue like GoBot's Tank. He still has Tourette's BLAM syndrome here in the Shattered Glass universe, though.

Kup uses the body of the BotCon exclusive Wings of Honor Kup, in the colours of what appears to be Scourge, who was included in the set with Wings of Honor Kup.

Hound uses his Universe/Classics Deluxe class toy body, coloured black and red. According to the colourist, he's supposed to be the inverse of G1 Hound without being Detritus. His profile makes him into a Scarecrow-esque master of fear type character.

Camshaft is the odd one out. He is a straight reuse of the Spy Changer Camshaft from the first Universe line. Poor Omnibots are still cannon fodder in the mirrorverse.

Goofs

As mentioned before, G1 Downshift's head is shown when Cybertron Downshift's would fit the pattern.

Camshaft is more gray than purple.
