Sir Auros' review of: Hubcap

Name: Hubcap
Allegiance: Autobot
Function: Damage Control
Sub-Group: NA
"You smash 'em, I'll trash 'em!"

After a fellow Autobot defeats a Decepticon in battle, Hubcap races in to haul the enemy away. He takes the debris back to Autobot headquarters where he salvages what he can from any surviving circuitry or undamaged armor. The rest of the parts he either recycles for scrap, or uses for his favorite hobby: target practice!

Hubcap, like Hoist, was a recent acquisition in a complete Machine Wars Basics lot, but never a figure I was particularly interested in getting. The figure's paintjob is only slightly less offensive to the eye than RiD Tow-line, but still isn't very pleasing on the eyes.

Vehicle Mode:
From the loud yellow paintjob, I assume Hubcap's supposed to be disguised as some sort of tow-truck designed to be in a construction zone. Unfortunately, like Hoist, the pair of robot arms in the bed of the truck dispel that illusion. I don't really find this mode much fun or great on display, but I guess it's fun enough for small children.

Robot Mode:
Except for the paintjob, Hubcap's robot mode isn't so bad. It's not all that great either though and I'm finding myself unable to say so much about it that I didn't say already in my review of Hoist. Still not a fan of the grill having to be a part of the gun.

Transformation: 7 - Somewhat neat gimmick with a terrible disguise.
Durability: 8 - Arms are a little loose, but the gun's not so hard to lose.
Fun: 6 - Not much if you aren't a small child I guess.
Price: 7 - I can't complain much since it was part of a cheap lot, but I don't recommend going out of your way to buy it.
Summary: 6 - The paintjob is awful and the toy is mediocre.
