Galvatron91's review of: Sixshot

Faction: Decepticon
Function: S.T.A.G. (Solo-Transformer-Assault-Group)
Generation: One
Sub-Group: N/a
"Life is worth living only as long as there are enemies worth destroying"

"A vile, nasty, murderous sort who carries out his job with ferocious intensity. Only redeeming quality is he speaks well of those he's sent to "the great junkyard in the sky," his phrase for destruction. Has 6 forms: robot, armored carrier (with twin laser batteries), ramming-tank (with infra-red rangefinder and target tracker), jet-propelled laser pistol, star fighter (maximum speed: 80,000 mph, range: 8 million miles) and wolf-creature modes. Only the wolf-creature mode has no need for Sixshot's 2 hypersonic concussion blasters; the wolf mode prefers to rip apart enemy Autobots with its razor fangs"

Alternate Mode: When you initially acquire the joy that is Sixshot, the instruction booklet dares you to see how many different transformations you can get before reading the booklet. What's that? You've turned him from starfighter to a big jumbled mess? Oh boy, life just got really difficult! Let's start with the Starfighter Jet. Starfighter jet is the initial mode Sixshot arrives in when you take him out of the package. According to the tech specs, he has a top speed of 80,000 mph in this mode with a range .8 million miles. When in this mode, Sixshot's two hypersonic concussion blasters (the two REALLY BIG guns that come with the toy) fit onto the wings to provide the fighter with added punch. In fact, the really cool thing about Sixshot is that he utilizes these weapons with every mode except the winged wolf mode. Sixshot's basic color scheme consists of a lovely purple hue, gray, an almost aqua blue, black, white, and silver. In this mode, two black fins located near the rear of the jet can be flipped open. The central part of the jet is that lovely blue, with the center having a small gray section that appears to be a cockpit with black windows. Moving forward, the front section consists of black on top and purple on the sides and underneath. Stickers add detail to this part.
Armored Carrier: The first mode from the Starfighter that the instruction book gives a transformation explanation is to the armored carrier. To begin, remove those blasters you placed on the wings, swing down the rear fins and swing the wings forward. Then in the back of the plane rotate the ends of the sides that have the wheels on them so that the wheels face down. Turn the jet over (the underside of the jet is the top of the carrier) swing up the wings and then swing the sides down. Rotate the tops of the sides, by now you should have the wheels in position to roll the vehicle. Swing down the wings so that they come across the top of the carrier, then take the nose cone of the jet and separate the halves, turning them out to the sides. In this mode, the top is mostly purple, near the two black circles on the top side is a piece that can be flipped open for the worst looking radar I have ever seen. Those two big guns can be placed into the holes on the top of the carrier located where the wings were flipped open in the silver piece. Confused yet? Anyway, this mode is pretty sweet, yet it is the one I have transformed him into the least! If the stickers are applied, two silver stickers placed in the purple section, which becomes the robot's legs form a windshield.
Winged Wolf: The one mode that doesn't utilize those blasters is next described in the instruction booklet. (It should be noted that Wolfy Sixshot prefers to rip Autobots apart with his teeth and claws…in other words, he don't need no stinking blasters!) Well, if you have managed to get your Sixshot into the carrier mode (I am impressed, especially given my horrid…I mean superlative explanation of the process) then the next transformation is fairly simple. (Yeah) OK, you are going to have to start by closing his radar and removing his blasters. (Which may make Sixshot angry, but don't worry he's a toy, he'll get over it!) Along the rear of the carrier, between the wings is the wolf head. Swing that head out, swing the wings upward and rotate the rear wheels so that the wheels face up. (With the head of the wolf comes a new color, the burning red eyes of a Decepticon!) Swing the sides down and rotate the front wheels so that treads face forward forming some wolf feet. Pivot up the front legs at the shoulders. Now, turn the carrier over and open the black trapdoors under the rear of the vehicle. (Or what was the front/top of the jet) Swing the wings down 90-degrees, separate rear section and rotate to form the rear legs. Finally, you should be able to stand the wolf; close the trapdoors, swing out the rear claws, and swing down the wings. Now you can rip and tear apart all the Autobots your sick little heart desires!
Tank: Frustrated yet? I am too! Patience grasshopper, we will make it through this together. Tank comes next and guess what? We get the blasters back! The ramming tank (complete with infra-red rangefinder…where is that? Oh, and it has a target tracker! Though I can't say I have ever caught my Sixshot out using his range finder or target tracking anything!) Next to the robot, I find that this mode ties with the wolf for the coolest modes…just personal preference. Anyway, let's go from wolf to tank without delay! To start, return the wolf head to its previous position and swing the wings straight up. Rotate the tops of wolf shoulders and the front feet. At the shoulders, the wheels should be facing front and on the sides, both sets of treads should be showing. Now, swing up the front legs and push the shoulders down to form the side of the tank, the tank treads should now be the sides. Turn wolfy over, open that trapdoor and swing the rear paws. Near the paws are double lasers. Bring them out and close the bottom trapdoors. Rotate the rear legs to form the double laser turrets. Turn the tank over, swing down the wings and pivot up the laser turrets. Swing down top trap door and swing in rear sides of tank. Swing the wings towards the back of the tank. Located in the center, near where the wolf's head was, is the command station, flip it up. To complete the tank, place the blasters in the holes at the sides of the turrets.
Laser Pistol: Is this getting old? Of course not! It's SIXSHOT!!! He's the ultimate Transformer! You don't seem as excited about this as I am…fine! I'll get back to business. Following the tank mode is the Laser Pistol…a mode, which my Sixshot has been in one time only…and that was just so I would know what I was so poorly describing to you. Hey! What do you expect? This is a free service after all! What's that boss? Yeah, I'll shut up now and describe the toy. To start the process, swing out the rear sides of the tank then swing down the double turret to form the laser barrel. Close the top trapdoors on the barrel. Move the wings out to the sides, flip down the command station and flip up radar dish to form laser trigger. Move the wings upwards and snap tips together to form the grip. Rotate the tank treads so that the wheels face down, the treads should be showing on the sides. Then rotate the end of the tank treads (where the fists are) so that the wheels face down.

Robot Mode: Finally! The ROBOT MODE!!! The baddest mode of them all. The mode that makes all the other Autobots on my shelf wet themselves…well, maybe not. This is the home stretch now! Firstly, Sixshot will once again have to part with his blasters, and then open the trapdoors on the end of the barrel. Replace the double lasers to their convenient hiding spots and close the trapdoors. Stand the robot and swing down the sides to form arms, slide back end of arms to reveal fists. Rotate the forearms so that the holes in the fists point up and rotate the tops of the arms to that the wheels face out. Swing out the feet (same as wolfy's feet) open the fins on the chest and swing down the chest plate. Bring up the head with those burning red, evil eyes, close the chest plate and replace the fins. FINALLY, the wings should face upward, and give Sixshot back his blasters!
In this mode, Sixshot is one of the taller Transformers. With his wings, he is just over a foot tall and towers over some gestalts. (Well at least Devastator, Menasor, and Defensor)

Transformation:9.5 - Not so much the difficulty, but the time it requires to do all this…ok he is possibly the most complex Transformer of all time, but a couple time through the instruction novel, I mean book and you'll be fine.
Durability: 9 - This guy holds up pretty darn well if I do say so myself! The biggest problem area I could find were his wings, which may loosen up as he is played with.
Fun:10 - He has SIX different transformations! He is a one-robot army! What more do you want?
Price:8.5 - As always, it really can vary depending upon condition and all that fun stuff which we all know by now. I got mine complete, mint, and never played with, stickers unapplied, in his box for $150. Ranges from $75 to $200 from what I have seen.
Overall: 9.5 - Not perfect, but pretty darn close. One of the all-time greats!
