Someone's review of: Omega Supreme

Faction: Autobot
Function: Defense Base
Generation:
One
Sub-Group: N/a
"Unyielding resolve has no conqueror"

"The ultimate defense force! Great strength, even greater courage. Serious, even grim...last line of Autobot defense. Protects the Ark and all else vital to his cause. As robot, can shatter a mountainside, lift 300,000 tons with clawed arm, destroy 12" steel cube with plasma blaster arm. Has head-mounted laser cannon. Can transform to laser cannon tank and launching pad with rocket. Rocket can achieve planetary orbit."

Alternate Mode: Rocket base and rocket. Omega was pretty far from being a straightforward transformer. In fact with so of the detachable parts-even in his alt mode was hard to fathom with many bits unrecognisable (face it a rocket base is hardly an everyday machine with a distinct model). But with a little help from the instructions you eventually build yourself a nifty little play set that even has a battery powered tank that travels the tracks round it. Place a whole load of minibots inside and you can really imagine Omega Supreme to be a cool little base camp in the on going autobot/decepticon war.

Robot Mode: First unfold the arms and 'head'. Push chest up to upper torso. Divide rocket and add on to arms. The 'tracks' of the tank push out to form the spin of the legs. Fix the rocket launcher pad to the back of omega. Add on tracks as 'wings'. The 'bridge' sections of the track fix on to the legs. Which are locked by the yellow clips, which linked the tracks and held up the launch pad. Tank cannon should be facing the back of omega. Bottom of launch pad make the feet. Omega Supreme in robot mode looks almost exactly like his cartoon counterpart (Cartoon appears to have longer legs is about the only significant difference) and is dead fun once you get him walking. If Omega has one major fault is it's hard to fit the legs exact to ensure he walks with out problems. This is a minor quibble to a hard-core tf fan though only the more expert youngster's would get the hang of this. Either way Omega stands tall.

Transformation: Two great modes but neither quick nor simple to switch between them.
Durability: Quite tough (Survived moving nicely) though the little yellow clips can easily be lost-but fortunately not essentially a visual part of either mode and can survive without if need be. Nothing too delicate but how long do you think the motors will last?
Fun: 10. One of the best. Transformation aside either mode looks cool, can move and is cartoon height perfect against the other gestalts.
Price: 7. Pretty good. A fairly rare Tf in good condition but not to badly priced say $80-150 complete and working, which is good considering the relative rarity, size and quality though never really seen a major bargain.
Overall: 9. Fantastic transformer to play with and display on your shelf
