Sir Auros' review of: Treadshot

Name: Treadshot
Allegiance: Autobot
Function: Superion Maximus Team Member
Sub-Group: Aerialbots

Treadshot is definitely my favorite out of the Energon aerialbots and the figure is great in both robot and vehicle modes and the price just can't be beat. Actually, you could stop reading this review right now and go out and buy this figure without worrying about whether or not you'll like it, because it's just that good.

Vehicle Mode:
I'm not sure exactly what type of jet Treashot is an imitation of, but doesn't it look cool? Unlike Skyblast, Treadshot's vehicle mode is well-proportioned and reminds me a lot of the Cyberjets. Like the Cyberjets though, Treadshot's alternate mode doesn't do any good hiding the robot mode as soon as you turn it over and look underneath. Still, for the $6 you pay for the figure, you get a good-looking, fun vehicle mode. The only complaint I can even think of mentioning about the jet mode is that the tips of the wings probably would have been better off colored black to match the rest of the plane because they look rather out of place in that light blue color.

Robot Mode:
Here's where Treadshot really resembles a Cyberjet. Great articulation, good sculpting, and this bad boy's actually packing heat unlike his team leader. I'm not sure exactly how Treadshot's supposed to hold his guns or how he's supposed to not shoot anyone standing behind him as well, but I just fold up on of the barrels and pretend he's working with some submachine guns or something. Treadshot's articulation is superb and the figure can be put in all kinds of dynamic poses. The head sculpt is awesome too and it's actually in proportion to the figure's body unlike Duststorm's pinhead. I could go on gushing, but really, there's not a single thing I can find to dislike about the robot mode.

Transformation: 8 - Slightly more complex than a Cyberjet, but on par with one as far as hiding the robot mode.
Durability: 8 - Paint hasn't chipped like on Storm Jet and there doesn't appear to be any parts that feel weak. The blue plastic tab that's attached to one of the guns and used in the gestalt mode is pretty loose and likely easily lost.
Fun: 10 - Buckets of it.
Price: 10 - $6 for a toy this good is awesome.
Summary: 10 - Buy it even if you're not building a Superion Maximus, and if you are, buy several. Make a Treadshot army.
